For a majority of Dolly Parton‘s life and career, the legendary country singer donned her signature blonde wig that sat high on her head. Although she wore her natural hair early on in her career, she eventually decided that wigs were her signature look.

“I used to try to keep my own hair teased as big as I like it, and having the bleach and all of that, it just broke off,” she said. “I thought, ‘Why am I going through all that? Why don’t I just wear wigs? That way, I never have a bad hair day! I have a big hair day, but not a bad hair day.”

But Dolly Parton wasn’t stingy about sharing her wigs with others and there was one moment that a Little House on the Prairie star was in need of a new ‘do. Find out who she offered her blonde locks up to!

Loyal viewers of Little House on the Prairie will remember Eva Beadle, the heartwarming schoolteacher who had an impact on Laura and Mary Ingalls. Portrayed by Charlotte Stewart, Ms. Beadle was a fan-favorite character who remained on the series from Season 1 until Season 4.

But behind-the-scenes, Stewart was struggling with a drug and alcohol addiction, and the actress eventually decided she needed to seek help. But instead of heading to rehabilitation center, Stewart decided to check into a health spa, which combines clinical rehab therapies with wellness and spa amenities.

“I went to a health spa in the South Bay to try to pull things together,” Stewart said. “The place offered transformation through meditation and a vegetarian diet—and of course drugs and alcohol were not on the menu.” But she eventually moved onto another health spa where none other than Dolly Parton was staying.

This new health spa was located just outside of San Diego and during her time there, she and the other guests took part in a sketch.

“The staff asked us all to do a skit,” Stewart shared about her time there. “So I asked Dolly Parton, the country singer, who was also staying there at the time, if I could borrow her wig. She was more than happy to offer one up—a large blonde thing—and I did a skit in which I played Holly Spartan.”

Charlotte Stewart wasn’t the only person that Dolly has let borrow one of her wigs. During an episode of The Tonight Show, Parton asked Jimmy Fallon to try on one of her wigs.

“You should put it on,” Parton teased and although Fallon was hesitant, he agreed. The talk show host seemed to love the wig and declared he was “Coming on the tour [as the] opening act!”
