Sprout Health: Real Facts and Figures About the Online GLP-1 Prescriber

Like many other telehealth providers offering GLP-1 medication, Sprout Health starts with a prescription quiz to see if you qualify. Once you answer a few quick questions to determine your eligibility, Sprout Health creates a customized GLP-1 weight loss plan for you.

Next, Sprout Health assigns you a doctor who will write you a GLP-1 prescription, usually within 24 hours. Depending on your history, Sprout Health may require you to have a video call with your doctor. The service offers same-day video consultations to help you save time and avoid further medication delays.

A brand representative said, “In most cases, users can go from quiz to doctor approval to prescription shipment in 48–72 hours. We’ve designed the process to be as seamless and efficient as possible, while still maintaining full clinical compliance and care.”

While there are photos of tirzepatide injection medication on Sprout Health’s website, I could only find pricing for semaglutide at $249 per month. This includes physician evaluations, follow-ups, unlimited access to clinicians, monthly prescriptions, a four-week supply of medication, required blood work and shipping. After getting a response from a Sprout Health agent via email, he told me that Sprout Health offers both semaglutide and tirzepatide.

“The pricing for Tirzepatide is $299 per month, while Semaglutide is $249 per month.”

However, a brand representative told us that they “currently offer Semaglutide, the active ingredient in Wegovy and Ozempic.” Since the FDA ordered pharmacies to stop compounding tirzepatide, it may no longer be available with Sprout. With that in mind, please reach out to Sprout Health for current medication availability.

I asked the brand representative how the company is adapting to changing FDA guidelines and they said, “We closely monitor all FDA guidance and align our operations accordingly. Our provider network sources from licensed, regulated U.S. pharmacies that meet FDA compounding standards. We’re transparent with our patients about the difference between compounded and branded options, so they can make informed choices.”

Sprout Health is not available in all 50 states.

I tried qualifying for medication by filling out the questionnaire but since I reside in California, I received this message: “We currently do not serve Alabama (AL), Arkansas (AR), California (CA), Louisiana (LA), Mississippi (MS), or North Dakota (ND).” Sprout Health says it will expand, and to stay tuned for more information.

I also checked Sprout’s terms and conditions page and found a statement saying their services are available in all 50 states. I reached out to Sprout Health to clear up this confusion.

The brand says you can get “$50 off for all new patients during their first month with code FIRST50“.

I could not find much background information about Sprout Health’s ownership or history. The only real online presence beyond the website is a Facebook page which started March of 2025. Sprout Health’s website launched in February of 2025, so it hasn’t been in the game for very long.

A brand representative told us, “Sprout Health was born out of a simple insight: millions of people are doing everything “right” to lose weight and still not seeing results—and it’s not their fault. The science around metabolism and GLP-1 medications has advanced rapidly, yet access to these solutions remains expensive, confusing, or out of reach for many. We started Sprout to change that—to make science-backed weight loss safe, simple, and accessible for everyday people.”

“Our founders saw firsthand how traditional weight loss approaches were failing people—endless dieting, overexercising, and struggling with guilt when nothing worked. The breakthrough science behind GLP-1 medications was compelling, but navigating the healthcare system to access them was overwhelming. So the goal became clear: build a better, more compassionate path to weight loss—one that combines cutting-edge medicine with support and simplicity.”

Sprout Health uses a white-label telehealth service

According to Sprout’s terms and conditions, it uses a white label telehealth provider called MD Integrations. This means that a third-party vendor (in this case, MD Integrations) manages services like customer service, appointment booking and other details around the business without having to build a system from scratch.

From what I can tell, Sprout Health is the same business as Man Health because they are at the same address, offer the same GLP-1 medications/pricing and have the same generic before and after photo on their contact page. Sprout Health’s website says it is owned by Sprout Health Partners LLC, but I couldn’t find any businesses by that name in California’s database.

Because there are other companies with the name Sprout Health, Google and other search tools were not very reliable. However, I reached out to Sprout Health for an interview and to get clarity on its background, CEO and other relevant information.

Sprout Health is a LegitScript-certified online pharmacy and telemedicine website

Although there is limited information about Sprout Health online, it is LegitScript certified as an online pharmacy and telemedicine provider. This is important because it ensures that companies comply with all applicable laws. Payment service providers may also require telemedicine providers to be LegitScript certified.

Sprout Health does not require health insurance. It appears to be a direct pay service and accept all major credit cards, including Visa, American Express and Apple Pay. Because it does not offer name-brand medications, health insurance generally will not cover them. A brand representative says:

“We currently do not accept insurance. Many of our patients find that GLP-1 medications aren’t covered by their plans or come with significant restrictions. By working outside of insurance, we’re able to offer predictable, flat-rate pricing and faster access—no prior authorizations, no unexpected delays.”

However, you may be able to submit an insurance claim after you pay: “Patients can request a superbill or itemized receipt from our team and submit it to their insurer for potential reimbursement. We can’t guarantee coverage, but we’re happy to support patients with documentation.”

The telehealth provider’s customer service offerings are email and a direct line. It doesn’t appear to have a toll-free number because the number the website gave me is a local San Diego number. Since Sprout Health is in Northern San Diego, I presume the number is the same no matter your location.

Customer Experience

After calling several times during normal business hours, I had trouble getting through to someone. Every time I called, an automated prompt told me that all their customer service agents are assisting other patients and to leave a voicemail. I left several voicemails and have not heard back.

However, email communication was better. I received an initial auto reply and within six hours, an agent replied and answered my questions thoroughly.

Website experience

Sprout Health offers a very basic website that’s easy to navigate. There are only a limited number of pages on the site but nearly everything is on the main home page. Like most GLP-1 providers, you are encouraged to fill out a health questionnaire to qualify for medication several times.

With that in mind, I would like to see more information about the company (CEO, their medical team, patient testimonials, etc.). The website shows a few before and after photos, but it doesn’t mention who this person is or if they use Sprout Health. There’s some stock photography of women measuring their waist and a female doctor holding a clipboard. Because of this, their website comes off as very generic and doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence.

After your assigned doctor approves you for GLP-1 medication, Sprout Health ships medication to your home if you’re in the United States. Sprout Health also says that you will receive shipping and tracking information within two business days. You can also expect to get text and email updates with tracking information for your shipment.

At the end of each month, you can fill out a refill form so you can continue receiving your medication. The brand says, “Refills are automated monthly, but patients can adjust, pause, or cancel easily from their account dashboard. Before each refill, we conduct a quick check-in to ensure dosage is still appropriate and everything is going smoothly.”

Sprout says that if you have any medically related questions, you can consult your clinician at no extra cost as many times as you would like.

Sprout Health offers a fast and relatively affordable way to access GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide through a fully virtual process. Their upfront pricing, lack of hidden fees and responsive email support are definite positives.

However, the company is still very new, and it shows. The lack of transparency around its leadership, limited online presence, and unresponsive phone support may leave a bad taste in your mouth. While the LegitScript certification does offer some reassurance, I would like to see Sprout Health provide more background about who’s behind the service, showcase real patient success stories and improve phone support.

We asked a brand representative what sets Sprout Health apart and they told us, “Everything we do is designed to remove friction. From our 2-minute eligibility quiz to asynchronous doctor consultations, we’ve built a streamlined experience that doesn’t require patients to jump through hoops. There’s no waiting rooms, no surprise fees, and no upsells—just clarity, affordability, and results.”

Overall, Sprout Health seems to be a promising option if you’re comfortable navigating newer online GLP-1 prescribers, but it’s worth doing your due diligence and keeping an eye on how the company evolves in the coming months.
