From Neurosurgery to Functional Medicine: Rebecca Royal-Waggoner Pioneering Preventive Health and Wellness at Liquivida Dallas
In the heart of Dallas’ thriving Arts District, a new health and wellness destination has opened its doors, led by a woman whose career journey is as inspiring as the services she offers. Meet Rebecca Royal-Waggoner, a seasoned nurse practitioner with a passion for preventive health, who is bringing her expertise in functional medicine and wellness to the community with her new Liquivida Wellness Center. Her vision is to help clients take control and achieve optimal health through proactive, preventive care — an approach that reflects both her personal and professional philosophy.
Rebecca’s journey into healthcare began at an early age. At just five years old, she knew she wanted to be a nurse, after a memorable encounter with a registered nurse at her Grandparents home, sparking her lifelong passion for helping others. “I’m not sure if it was her demeanor, or maybe her stethoscope, but something about that experience made me want to be a nurse,” she recalls. Years later, as a mother of three, Rebecca decided to pursue her dream. At 36, she embarked on her nursing career, earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, followed by a Master’s and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice.
While her early career focused on neurosurgery, she found her true calling in cardiology, preferring the preventive aspect of that field and discovering a passion for educating patients on the importance of lifestyle, weight loss, and disease prevention.
“I was blessed to work with exceptional cardiologists in Seattle, and later, in Dallas-Fort Worth. Seeing numerous sick patients with similar lifestyles, all suffering from preventable chronic diseases made me realize that so many people aren’t taking care of their health; they typically lack the understanding of foundational components like nutrition, exercise, and quality sleep, I want to help change that.” Rebecca explains.
Discovering Liquivida®: A Platform for Preventive Health
It was this passion for preventive care that eventually led Rebecca to Liquivida® and its approach to functional medicine, promoting overall wellness through diagnostics and personalized plans. Founder and CEO, Sam Tejada, also experienced his “aha” moment while performing his duties as a firefighter/paramedic.
“The more I saw, the more convinced I became that I could change and save so many more lives by educating people about preventive care and making optimal health and wellness accessible to everyone,” Tejada states.
After researching the franchise model and speaking with the Liquivida team, Rebecca felt she had finally found her place, exclaiming, “This is me!” I had been searching for a community that truly aligned with my values, and I’m thrilled to be part of this team.”

Liquivida’s services are designed to help clients rehydrate, replenish, and revitalize from the inside out, through IV vitamin drips, innovative weight loss solutions, regenerative therapies and medical aesthetics. Recognizing that feeling good on the inside and feeling good about the way you look on the outside both contribute to an individual’s sense of optimal wellness, Liquivida’s services are designed to complement one another to ensure clients achieve their desired results. This approach pairs well with Rebecca’s philosophy about wellness. “It isn’t just about a single factor; it’s the integration of all aspects, and being consistent is essential,” she explains.
In 2020, Rebecca made a pivotal move to Dallas that changed both her personal and professional life. As a dedicated nurse practitioner, she embraced new challenges that aligned with the holistic approach she promotes to her clients. Shortly after relocating, she began working with a personal trainer, initiating a rigorous resistance training regimen and overhauling her eating habits, all while juggling a demanding work schedule, and being a mom.
One of the most significant changes was her commitment to a 30-day sugar-free challenge. “At that time, I did not think I had a problem with sugar and honestly thought there was no way I could do that, but I did,” Rebecca recalled. This experience marked a turning point for her, as she witnessed remarkable changes in her body and recognized how sugar and inflammation had previously hindered her weight loss efforts.
At the age of 50, Rebecca took her transformation to the next level by competing in the NPC Masters Bikini division, doing so well that she competed three more times that year and qualified for Masters Nationals.
Rebecca’s inspiring journey showcases her resilience and commitment to health, serving as a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to make a change and pursue one’s passions.

Her commitment to wellness goes beyond her own journey. She is driven by the desire to set a positive example for her children. “I want them to see that if I can do it, they can too,” she shares. “I want them to prioritize their health and understand the importance of prevention earlier rather than later.”
As the owner of the new Liquivida Wellness Center in Dallas, Rebecca is excited to bring her preventive health expertise to the local community. Offering IV drips, medical aesthetics, and weight loss solutions, her goal is to help people feel as good as they look. “Too many people don’t realize that you actually can change the way that you age. If we can get the inside healthy, that helps the outside function better and look even better,” she states.
Rebecca is a passionate advocate for her clients’ health, serving as a living example of what can be achieved through preventive care and functional medicine. Her journey—from a curious five-year-old to a nurse practitioner, bodybuilder, and franchise owner—demonstrates that it’s never too late to take control of one’s health and life. “I’m just a normal person. I’m 51 years old, and I’m still paying back my student loans. If I can do it, anyone can do it,” she emphasizes. Rebecca’s story serves as an inspiring reminder that dedication and resilience can lead to remarkable transformations.
Her goal is to educate clients on how lifestyle choices directly influence wellness and inspire them to prioritize their health and make informed decisions that promote lasting well-being.
The Dallas location is set to become a hub for individuals looking to optimize their health and help them achieve their wellness goals from the inside out.
