While many of us are itching to take a dip in the ocean and soak up the sun, summer isn’t making an appearance just yet. However, baby Sofia, the Pioneer Woman’s beloved grandchild, is already enjoying all the sunshine as she and her parents, Alex Drummond Scott and Mauricio Scott, recently made their way to Cinnamon Shore for a beach getaway. Baby Sofia’s first beach adventure
Sofia may only be four months old, but in that time, she’s been to Drummond Ranch in Pawhuska for Christmas, Easter and regular visits to Ree and Lad, hockey games, a rodeo, The Mercantile and many other exciting activities. And now she’s experienced the beach for the first time!
Alex documented their first day at Cinnamon Shore, a beach community on the Texas Gulf coast to her Instagram stories. Joining her and Mauricio were some friends, and the trip had everyone in good spirits, especially Sofia.
For day one, she was clad in a pink and white seersucker outfit with a giant bow in the middle, plus the cutest daisy-shaped sunglasses, which had everyone asking if they were available in adult sizes. Alex wrote, “Sofia’s first beach trip!!!!”
Other highlights from day one
If you thought Alex was done sharing memories at just one photo, think again. Throughout the day, she shared various pictures of Sofia on her stories, including one with a friend, one with Mauricio and one in the water with Mama.
In the photo with the girls, she wrote, “The girlies are ready to hit the sand.” They seemed to be enjoying the palm trees and beach vibes. Shortly after that was a cute father-daughter moment as Mauricio was captured holding Sofia and smiling in the sunshine, with the caption, “thriving.”
And finally, Alex posted a sweet photo of her holding Sofia in the water, who was wearing a matching swimsuit and hat to protect her from the sun. “One of us has a spray tan and the other doesn’t,” Alex jokes. “Guess who is who?” Hmm… 🤔,” joked Alex.

In her most recent post, Alex couldn’t help but share all the memorable moments from the family getaway. “Beach + besties + babies! Doesn’t get much better 🥲,” she wrote in the caption. The first photo is the whole family: Alex and Mauricio are holding Sofia, who’s wearing another adorable outfit, this time with pink and white anchors.
The carousel of photos is mainly different Sofia moments, and you can tell she’s thoroughly soaking up the sun. Her outfits range from cute swimwear to matching moments with Alex and Mauricio’s friends’ children. Some of the must-see memories also include Mauricio holding a giant fish, large group pictures, and mother-daughter smiles from the entire weekend.
And of course, Ree couldn’t miss out on these photos. She commented, “The seersucker pic of Sofia 😂😂😂 She is too cool for the pool.”
Where was George the golden retriever during the trip?
While all three humans were present on the trip, George, their beloved golden retriever (also known as their first “baby”), was seemingly absent from the festivities. He wasn’t in any of the photos Alex posted to Instagram, so it’s possible he didn’t tag along. We’re sure he’ll be eagerly waiting at home for everyone to return.
