Have you ever heard a Chris Stapleton song and been taken by the harmonies? More often than not, the voices you’re hearing are those of Stapleton and his lovely, talented wife, Morgane. The musical duo has been married since 2007, and since meeting in Nashville and tying the knot, they’ve built a lovely family and career that allows them to work side by side. Here, all about Chris Stapleton, his wife Morgane Stapleton and the lovely little life they’ve created.

How Chris and Morgane Stapleton met and fell in love

Back in the early 2000s, Chris and Morgane were both working in Nashville, finding success as songwriters at publishing companies. Morgane admitted to The Washington Post back in 2015 that she had a bit of a crush on the man who would become a country legend, often listening for the jingle of his keys as he walked down the hall of the building they worked at, hoping to hear a new song he had written. Eventually, when he asked her to write a song with him, the session ended up being something of a first date—and the rest is history. While Chris Stapleton is the name that dominates the country genre, it’s his wife to whom the music superstar turns for advice to this day.

Chris Stapleton on why Morgane is his barometer

She’s my barometer for most things,” Stapleton shared with Jennifer Hudson on The Jennifer Hudson Show earlier this year. “Particularly songs,” he continued, noting that she produced on one of his latest records. Morgane also helped produce his 2023 album, Higher. Outside of music, however, Chris has shared the other things that make their relationship work. “We’re married, so we hold each other accountable,” Chris shared with The New York Times in 2017. “We can lift each other up on bad nights, kind of give each other a wink when we screw up or do something funny.”

Inside their Nashville life with five kids

Chris and Morgane have expanded their family quite a bit since they said “I do,” and their crew of five children certainly keeps them busy! Together, Chris and Morgane are Mom and Dad to Waylon, 13, Ada, 12, twins Samuel and Macon, 5, and a 4-year-old son whose name has yet to be revealed. And they live in Nashville to this day.

Though the singer keeps his family life private, he has opened up in the past about raising his five kids. “It’s really interesting to talk to them and hear their takes on things and hear about what they are really passionate about and love and their dislikes,” the singer told 107.9 Coyote Country in 2021. “They’re very opinionated.”

Which songs has Chris Stapleton done with Morgane?

Chris and his wife, Morgane, have collaborated on their music many times over the years, and their chemistry is unmistakable. The duo has taken the stage during performances at award shows like the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, and is beloved for their duet of “You Are My Sunshine.” Additionally, Morgane provides backing vocals for Chris and has even helped on the producing end. Whether it’s work or play, Chris and Morgane are doing something right in their marriage!
