In 2014, Erin Krakow originated the role of schoolteacher Elizabeth Thornton on the hit frontier drama When Calls the Heart. Simultaneously, Ben Rosenbaum was bringing to life the character of Mike Hickam on the show. Though their first meeting was over a decade ago, it wasn’t until around 2024 that the duo made their relationship public, so the exact date they got together is unknown. Their social media debut consisted of a carousel of photos together, with Erin kissing Ben on the cheek and smiling sweetly at the man who would become her hubby.
Erin and Ben weren’t the only romance that blossomed on the set of When Calls the Heart, as fellow Hallmark stars Kayla Wallace and Kevin McGarry also found love while working on the show! “I think there’s just always been a bit of magic in Hope Valley,” Krakow explained to People why the show became a hub for real-life romances. “There’s something so special about our show and the energy in Jamestown [British Columbia, Canada], where we shoot.”

The post included four photos of the duo holding sonogram photos, as well as propping up their sweet dog, Willoughby, wearing a shirt that says “big brother.”
