Katherine LaNasa, who just won her first Emmy for her powerful performance as Nurse Dana Evans in the HBO Max medical drama The Pitt, has been acting for over 30 years and is now more famous than ever at 58. On the red carpet for the awards show, LaNasa’s husband of 13 years, former Melrose Place star Grant Show, spoke movingly about her later-in-life success, and viewers delighted in the fact that the actress was married to a ’90s TV hunk.

With all the buzz about LaNasa’s TV role, fans have also been intrigued by her personal life, as before she found marital bliss with Show, she was married to Dennis Hopper and French Stewart, two other actors with decidedly different personalities and careers.

Read on for a look at LaNasa’s three high-profile Hollywood marriages and what she’s said about them.

Katherine LaNasa and Dennis Hopper: The up-and-comer and the showbiz veteran

Katherine LaNasa started out as a ballerina, and she met her first husband, Dennis Hopper, after one of her dance performances in 1987. Hopper was an icon of the ’60s counterculture thanks to his role in Easy Rider, which he also directed, and when he and LaNasa met, he had just revived his long career by playing the terrifying drug-huffing villain in the 1986 thriller Blue Velvet.

LaNasa and Hopper married in 1989, and the fact that she was a 23-year-old unknown while he was a 54-year-old veteran with a wild-man reputation earned the quirky couple a lot of media attention. Their son, Henry, now an actor, was born in 1990. That same year, LaNasa made her onscreen debut with a bit part as a waitress in Hopper’s film Catchfire. The couple divorced after three years of marriage in 1992.

In an interview shortly after their son was born, LaNasa insisted that she wasn’t bothered by Hopper’s bad-boy reputation, saying, “I feel pretty confident about my relationship with Dennis. I’m not worried about him running off with someone because he did a sex scene with them. Dennis has had his time.”

Hopper died of prostate cancer at 74 in 2010. Following his passing, LaNasa said, “He taught me a lot . . . [He was] so open-minded to art forms and [he] set an example for me to keep my eyes open to the world.” When Blue Velvet director David Lynch died earlier this year, LaNasa spoke fondly on Instagram of spending time with the late director and her ex-husband.

Katherine LaNasa and French Stewart: A second marriage to a sitcom funnyman

Katherine LaNasa met her second husband, French Stewart, when she made a guest appearance on the sitcom he starred in, 3rd Rock From the Sun, in 1996. They married in 1998, and were together for 11 years before they divorced in 2009.

LaNasa and Stewart costarred in the 2000 TV movie Murder at the Cannes Film Festival and at the time, she said, “We work really well together. I think French will push me sometimes to make choices that are a bit more out there.”

Katherine LaNasa and Grant Show: Lasting love with a ’90s soap opera hunk

Katherine LaNasa and Grant Show met when they were both appearing on Big Love and married in 2012. Like LaNasa’s previous two husbands, Show is also an actor, albeit one with a very different resume from Hopper’s decades-spanning edginess and Stewart’s comic roles, as he got his start on the soap opera Ryan’s Hope in the ’80s and became a ’90s mainstay with his role as womanizing bad boy Jake Hanson on Melrose Place.

13 years after LaNasa and Show tied the knot, they remain happily married. Their daughter, Eloise, was born in 2014, making her 24 years younger than her half-brother, Henry Hopper.

LaNasa and Show’s relationship started at a difficult time in The Pitt actress’ life, as Hopper, her first husband, had just passed and she had just gone through a bad breakup. When she met her now-husband, she recalled, “I really liked Grant and we became friendly and I thought, ‘Oh, he is so handsome and with all that celebrity stuff, he’ll probably be such a pain in the ass!’ I couldn’t have been more wrong.”

During LaNasa’s recent acceptance speech for the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Emmy, she sweetly thanked “My children, for making me real, and my beautiful husband, Grant Show, for helping me always, with everything,” as the actor teared up in the audience.

Katherine LaNasa clearly doesn’t have a type, and her relationships have surprised many of The Pitt’s fans, but it’s clear that she’s found lasting love with her third husband.
