Inside the Viral Grad Photo of Linda Evangelista’s Son With Salma Hayek and Her Billionaire Husband
The supermodel’s son graduated with support from her ex, who once was asked for $46K/month in child support
Canadian supermodel Linda Evangelista is one proud mom! On Tuesday, the 60-year-old stunner shared a post to her Instagram in celebration of her son, Augustin James Evangelista’s, high school graduation—but Linda wasn’t the only one who showed up in support of 18-year-old Augie! Beloved actress Salma Hayek, known for her work in films like From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) and Frida (2002), also shared a post to her Instagram account celebrating Augustin’s big accomplishment. Salma Hayek is Augie’s stepmom, married to his father, François-Henri Pinault, since 2009. While Linda and Francois’s past hasn’t been without complications, including a widely publicized child support case, based on the photos shared to social media, it looks as though Auggie’s parents have made their co-parenting situation work!
“Augie!!! We are so PROUD of you congratulations for becoming the extraordinary young man that you are and managing to still be our lovely boy and congratulations to Linda, Francois and all the parents who got our babies up to this point,” Salma Hayek wrote in the caption of her Instagram post. “Easier said than done.” Linda also shared the love on social media, writing, “I’m one proud momma. Blessed blessed blessed.”
Linda Evangelista and Francois-Henri Pinault’s relationship and child support drama
When Evangelista gave birth to Augustin in 2006, her son’s paternity remained a mystery until a few years later, when court documents revealed that Pinault was the father as their child support case became public. Their brief relationship ultimately led to a highly speculated legal situation, in which Evangelista reportedly sought out $46,000 a month in child support from her son’s father. Pinault, aged 63, is the CEO of Kering, the luxury group that owns major high-end brands including Gucci, Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen. Ultimately, the case was settled outside of the court.
Not long after Pinault’s brief fling with Evangelista did he meet actress Salma Hayek, with whom he welcomed another child, Valentina, 17, in 2007. The couple got married in 2009 and have been together ever since.

While the nature of Evangelista and Pinault’s court battle might indicate a messy co-parenting situation, based on the shared celebration of Augustin’s accomplishment and the things Evangelista has said about her son’s stepmom, it seems as though this blended family makes it work. Back in 2023, in an interview with Vogue, Evangelista shared a story in which Hayek stepped in for her during a time of need around the holidays.
“I was sick at Thanksgiving,” she shared with the publication. “And Salma got on the plane with her daughter, came here, and made Thanksgiving dinner. She asked what I wanted—it was a very eclectic wish list. I wanted her Mexican chicken with truffled potatoes. And she spent the day in the kitchen and cooked it herself. No help. The kids helped her at the end. She made a feast—a beautiful, beautiful meal. I had told her that I wasn’t going to have Thanksgiving; I wasn’t feeling well. And she said, ‘Oh yes you are: I am coming.’ And poof, she was here.”
Now that’s a co-parenting situation we love to see!
