Kelli Finglass Reveals Why She Can’t Stop Watching Taylor Sheridan Shows (Exclusive)
The ‘America's Sweethearts’ star reveals why Taylor Sheridan's shows are her latest TV obsession
Taylor Sheridan is one of the biggest names in television right now, thanks to his beloved characters, thrilling dialogue and unforgettable plotlines. And while many celebrities have shared their love for his work over the years, one of his newest fans is none other than Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders director—and America’s Sweethearts star—Kelli Finglass! Below, we share everything the reality TV star said about Sheridan, including why she can’t get enough of his shows.
Kelli Finglass opens up about her love for Taylor Sheridan
Finglass, age 61, is no stranger to the TV world. From 2006 to 2021, she was on CMT’s reality show Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team, which followed the cheerleaders through training camp. Then, in 2024, she made her Netflix debut on America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, which followed the cheerleaders throughout their entire season—not just training camp.
“I binged it this weekend and found myself crying. I couldn’t believe it, but I cried,” Finglass tells Woman’s World of Season 3, which was released earlier this month. “I kind of surprised myself, and remembered what I loved, and had forgotten some things, too. So it was very, very moving for me.”
When she’s not filming her own show, Finglass said that she, like so many others, loves Sheridan’s work—especially Dutton Ranch and Landman, both of which are set in her home state of Texas.

“Oh, I love everything Taylor Sheridan does. He films in Fort Worth, so we get to have chance encounters with stars all the time,” Finglass says. “At this moment, I’ve been watching Lioness.”
For those unfamiliar, Lioness is Sheridan’s edge-of-your-seat procedural thriller that follows CIA operative Joe McNamara (Zoe Saldaña). It’s fast-paced, jaw-dropping and utterly addictive—and it was just renewed for Season 3, which should arrive later this year.
Kelli Finglass reveals what other shows she loves
When she’s not watching shows created by Sheridan, Finglass said that she “watches almost everything on Netflix.”
“I consume too much, honestly,” she confesses. “But it’s my only time where I’m not working.”
Finglass also loves the hit NBC news show Today, which she and the other cheerleaders were recently on. “This morning we were out in the plaza with a little bit of drizzle and a lot of cheer, and it was exciting, it was fun,” she says. “They’re amazing people. It feels like home when we show up there every time.”
Kelli Finglass teases ‘America’s Sweethearts’ Season 4
Season 4 of America’s Sweethearts hasn’t been officially confirmed by Netflix yet, but reports claim that camera crews were spotted at auditions earlier this month. While Finglass didn’t comment on that specifically, she did tease what the upcoming cheer season would look like.
“Well, the cheerleaders were in rehearsals and we’re starting training again, and sometimes it’s cyclical. I mean, we start teaching some new choreography, and then we have some traditional routines, like ‘Thunderstruck,’” she says. “As far as the football team goes, they haven’t reported to their training camp yet. They go to Oxnard, California, in July, so we’re actually a few weeks ahead in preparing for our first game.”

“We’re hosting World Cup soccer matches at our stadium, so we will have had nine games at our stadium for that. We’re always being invited now into some major artist concert performances, so that’s exciting, too,” she continues. “So, we’ve kind of got a lot of spinning plates right now. People say, ‘When’s your off season,’ and there literally is not one.”
Season 3 of America’s Sweethearts is available to stream on Netflix.
