‘Eloise at the Plaza’ Movie Is Casting — No Experience Needed!
The new film, with Amy Sherman-Palladino at the helm, is casting girls ages 7 to 12 — here’s how to audition!
Do you know a little girl who would love to run around the Plaza Hotel, wear fluffy pink dresses and get up to no good? If so, the perfect role is awaiting her! A new rendition of the classic story, Eloise at the Plaza, is currently casting for the role of the iconic young girl, Eloise.
The new feature film is coming from Amy Sherman-Palladino, creator of beloved TV shows Gilmore Girls and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and is based on the original 1955 book written by Kay Thompson and illustrated by Hilary Knight. The duo created five Eloise books, while a series of about 20 books have been written with contributions from additional authors.
The books tell the tale of Eloise, who lives at New York City’s famed Plaza Hotel. She spends her days with her British nurse Nanny, her dog Weenie and a turtle na med Skipperdee. In the books, Eloise explores all corners of the hotel, gets into mischief, terrorizes the mailman and generally causes mayhem.
The books were later turned into two films in 2003, with Eloise at the Plaza and Eloise at Christmastime. The movies, which starred Sofia Vassilieva as Eloise and Julie Andrews as Nanny, were a success.

About the role requirements
One of the most important parts of any good movie is the leading character, and the creators of Eloise are on the hunt for a standout star! Since the fictional character already exists in the books and in the previous films, the creators have an idea of what they’re looking for. The character description reads as follows:
“7 – 12 year old girl. A precocious, energetic, intelligent and charming young girl who calls the Plaza Hotel in New York City her home. Eloise is always ready for a new, mysterious and exciting adventure.”
The role is open to anyone who fits the description, regardless of her acting abilities, as the call reads “no experience necessary.”
How to submit an audition
If you know someone interested in being considered for this role, there are just a few simple steps required. To submit an information, prospective Eloises must send an email to eloisecasting2025@gmail.com with the following details:
- Applicant’s name
- Age and date of birth of applicant
- Applicant’s location
- A current photo of the applicant
- The contact information (phone and email) for the applicant’s guardian
- Also, add in the email where you heard about the casting call
When does filming begin?
The open casting call was shared online less than a week ago and there is currently no hard deadline as for when to submit. But if you are interested in sending an application, do it as soon as possible as there will likely be many applicants.
Filming for the movie begins soon, in November 2025, so be sure to submit those applications now!
