Taylor Sheridan has transformed Fort Worth, Texas into a serious rival to Hollywood, anchoring his expanding empire with a massive new film studio in his home state. From a sprawling production hub to upcoming blockbusters and a historic Alamo commission, the Yellowstone and Dutton Ranch creator’s Texas footprint keeps growing.
Here’s what to know about Taylor Sheridan’s films
- Sheridan is backing a 450,000 square-foot film studio in Fort Worth in partnership with Hillwood and Paramount, already considered the largest film studio in Texas, with expansion already in the works.
- The new facility consists of two buildings with six soundstages built by Sheridan’s SGS Studios alongside developer Hillwood and Paramount, with leaders citing the need for “world-class facilities” to bring Sheridan’s vision to life.
- Sheridan will create a film about the Battle of the Alamo for the new Alamo Visitor Center and Museum’s 4D theater in San Antonio, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
- Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick personally reached out to Sheridan for the Alamo project, saying there was “only one screenwriter, film producer, and director in the world” who could make the film, and Sheridan enthusiastically accepted despite his packed schedule, as reported by the Star-Telegram.
- Sheridan is stepping away from Westerns with two new feature films in development—the action thriller F.A.S.T. and a Call of Duty video game adaptation co-created with director Peter Berg.
- F.A.S.T. stars Brandon Sklenar as a former special forces commando recruited by the DEA to strike against CIA-protected drug dealers, and is set to release in theaters on April 23, 2027.
- The F.A.S.T. ensemble cast includes LaKeith Stanfield, Jason Clarke, Sam Claflin and Trevante Rhodes as DEA agents working alongside Sklenar’s character, marking Sheridan’s first feature film since 2021.
- Sheridan lives in Texas with his family and owns the 6666 Ranch and Bosque Ranch, with his hit shows Yellowstone, Landman, 1923 and now Dutton Ranch, all filmed in partnership with his studio in Fort Worth.
