It’s been just over a year since the dramatic events of the Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 finale and fans cannot wait to see what happens next. In Kingstown, nothing is certain except for the booming business of incarceration, from which the McLusky family has its power.

The Taylor Sheridan drama first premiered in November 2021 and is about to release its fourth season after a year-long wait. Learn everything there is to know about Mayor of Kingstown Season 4, like the release date and what you can expect to happen.

When does ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 4 premiere?

Since you’ve waited a significant amount of time since the third season of Mayor of Kingstown, you’ll be happy to hear that you don’t have to wait much longer.

The fourth season will premiere on October 26, 2025, with the first two episodes being released simultaneously. Following that, you can expect an episode per week all the way up until December 21.

Jeremy Renner, who stars as Mike McLusky, shared a post following the wrapping of filming. He wrote, “Thank you to the cast and crew and most importantly … the FANS — this season will be worth the wait I promise.”

What happens in Season 4?

Paramount+ has given an official description of what you can expect from season 4 of Mayor of Kingstown while also not giving away too much. Read the plot below.

“Mike’s actions in Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 have major implications in Season 4. While he eliminated the head of one gang, he quickly learns that a new gang has entered the picture. As he struggles against this fresh threat, he endeavors to protect his family from danger, to handle a bullheaded new police warden, and to battle back the demons from his past.”

Hugh Dillon, one of the show’s co-creators, also spoke about what to expect from the upcoming season, explaining that it will be explosive.

The blade’s sharper. The cuts go deeper,” he explained. “It’s about the intricacies of human emotion under pressure, and the choices we make when we have no good choices left. It’s an incendiary season 4.”

Jeremy Renner’s return after his accident

Although Mayor of Kingstown premiered in 2021, the series has been heavily delayed a couple of times. The initial delay came after season 2 when Jeremy Renner, who stars as the main character, was involved in a major accident involving his snowplow.

Renner endured extremely severe injuries, including more than 30 broken bones, a collapsed lung, a punctured liver, and a broken jaw, among other things. His near-death experience caused him to undergo extensive treatment and months of major physical therapy.

The actor eventually had a full recovery and was able to return to filming for the third season in January 2024, only about a year after his accident. Although he said the process of healing and returning was challenging, Renner used his return as motivation to heal.

Season 4 was also a bit delayed, but for reasons unrelated to Renner’s accident. The ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023 caused a slight delay in filming, thus the October 2025 release.

Make sure to tune into season 4 on October 26 and catch up on seasons 1-3 on Paramount+ right now!
