Meet the ‘NCIS: Sydney Cast’—Inside TV’s Boldest, Breeziest International Spinoff Yet!
Behind-the-scenes with the actors bringing the Aussie task force to life in Season 3
Fans have long been following the NCIS crew and those of its countless spinoffs, but when the series took us to another continent for the first time with NCIS: Sydney, viewers were instantly hooked. The series, which debuted back in 2023, follows a team of US NCIS agents who work alongside members of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to monitor and solve naval crimes near the Indo-Pacific region. Based out of Sydney, this crew of crime solvers has been keeping us entertained as the third season currently airs. Here, get to know the NCIS: Sydney cast.
Olivia Swann as Special Agent Michelle Mackey

Olivia Swann portrays NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey, who leads the joint task force consisting of both AFP and NCIS agents. While we’ve loved watching Swann bring to life this tough-as-nails character, she is also known by many for her role in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The actress has also appeared in films like River Wild.
Delving into Mackey’s vulnerability and heart this season has allowed me to bring a bit more of myself to her
“On the surface, I’d say Mackey and I are two very different people,” Swann said of her NCIS character in an interview with Euphoria. “She’s extremely fiery, daring, and strong-willed, whereas I’m naturally more reserved and self-depreciating. However, delving into Mackey’s vulnerability and heart this season has allowed me to bring a bit more of myself to her, which I think helps to ground and center the character we’ve come to know.”
Tuuli Narkle as Constable Evie Cooper

Constable Evie Cooper, portrayed by Tuuli Narkle, is a member of the AFP known for her confidence and outspoken nature. Narkle, an Australian actress, is also known for her work in series such as Mystery Road: Origin and Territory.
Sean Sagar as Special Agent DeShawn Jackson

Sean Sagar plays NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson, and his dedication and skill make him an important part of the force. The actor has appeared in series such as Our Girl, Fate: The Winx Saga, Sistas and more. While bringing his character to life has been a fun journey, taking his talents to Australia has been quite the adventure.
“I am from London, which is a city where you don’t have any deadly animals whatsoever,” he shared with Punkee. “Coming here was very scary. It was a fight for our lives. You always hear about Australia as having the deadliest animals you can think of. I didn’t want to go back to my accommodation in the bush because I was scared of spiders every night. I still check my shoes and my pillowcases. There was a golden cockroach! A golden one!”
Mavournee Hazel as Bluebird Gleeson

A skilled forensic scientist, Mavournee Hazel brings to life the wise and talented Bluebird “Blue” Gleeson. The Australian actress had a long career on the Australian soap opera Neighbours, and later made appearances in shows such as Halifax: Retribution and Shantaram.
Todd Lasance as Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey

Another one of the team’s leaders, Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey represents the AFP as an experienced member of the crew. The actor has had success in the realm of Australian television, appearing in series such as Home and Away and Crownies, and in more recent years, he could be seen on shows like The Vampire Diaries and The Secrets She Keeps.
William McInnes as Dr. Roy ‘Rosie’ Penrose
