Starbucks just announced its fall menu, with iconic fan-favorites and new bites!

Yesterday, the Seattle-based coffee giant announced that they’re bringing back fall flavors on August 26. The 2025 autumn lineup will include old favorites like the Pumpkin Spice Latte and a fresh take on the egg bite. Plus, the coffeehouse chain shared that they will continue to test the new Coco drinks, introduced earlier this summer.

Starbucks continues to test new coco-based drinks

It may be approaching pumpkin season but if the flavor of fall just isn’t your thing, Starbucks has a few more tricks up its sleeve. The Coco Matcha and Coco Cold Brew could potentially become another delicious addition to the menu, as Starbucks has decided to expand their testing of the sweet beverages.

Testing initially began in New York City in July 2025 and drinks were only available there, but now coffee lovers can get the beverages in over 400 locations nationwide, including Los Angeles and select midwest cities (Cedar Rapids, IA; St. Louis, MO; Springfield, IL; South Bend, IN; Madison and Milwaukee, WI).

If you’re in or near one of these major cities, stop in to try these flavors while they’re being tested!

The Coco Matcha is the perfect blend of your favorite matcha and hydrating coconut. The drink features coconut water poured over ice and topped with Starbucks unsweetened Matcha Cold Foam, giving you the taste of summer all autumn long. If you prefer a more caffeinated version, try the Coco Cold Brew, which has coconut water poured over ice and topped with its delicious cold brew foam.

If that’s not enough, these new drinks are low in calories and sugar! The Coco Matcha has only 230 calories with 11 grams of sugar, while the Coco Cold Brew is 70 calories with 9 grams of sugar (both for a Grande).

New drinks coming to Starbucks this fall

The Pumpkin Spice Latte is hitting the menu soon, and fans are ready, but Starbucks is offering new twists on the fall beverage. Next week, the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai, and Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte will also join the official menu. The new Pecan Cortado, an espresso drink blended with equal parts milk and a nutty syrup, is also set to join the list.

New Starbucks Egg Bites to try in 2025

Starbucks’ Italian Sausage Egg Bites are also making their debut in August. The small breakfast bite that currently comes in three flavors — Bacon & Gruyère, Egg White & Roasted Red Pepper and Kale & Mushroom — will give Starbucks snackers another great bite to add to their morning routine.

Some drinks from the 2024 fall menu won’t be making the cut this year. The scratched drinks include the Iced Apple Crisp Nondairy Cream Chai, Iced Caramel Apple Cream Latte and Iced Honey Apple Almond Milk Flat White.

How the Pumpkin Spice Latte became a seasonal icon

These days, it’s hard to imagine fall without the Pumpkin Spice Latte, but that wasn’t always the case. The first seasonal drink Starbucks ever released was the Peppermint Mocha. After that became a hit, the Starbucks team wanted to take another shot at concocting a seasonal drink.

In early 2003, they met at Starbucks’ headquarters in the “Liquid Lab” to begin trying new flavors. Members of the team brought in pumpkin pies and “would sample a forkful of pumpkin pie followed by a sip of hot espresso – teasing out which flavors from the pie best complemented the coffee,” according to a release. “For the next three months, the team refined the recipe, handcrafted with espresso, pumpkin spice sauce and steamed milk – topped off with whipped cream and a dash of pumpkin pie topping.”

In the fall of 2003, Starbucks added the new drink to about 100 stores in Washington, D.C., and Vancouver, Canada. “Within the first week of the market test, we knew we had a winner,” Peter Dukes, who led the Starbucks espresso beverage team at the time, said. “I remember calling store managers on the phone to see how the new beverage was doing, and we could hear the excitement in their voices.”

The next fall, the Pumpkin Spice Latte rolled out in stores across the U.S. and Canada, becoming one of the most iconic beverages to date.
