Her Boyfriend Didn’t Care After She Almost Died in a Devastating Car Accident. But Two Years Later, She Got the Shock of Her Life

Two years ago, Meagan McAdams’s life took a turn for the worst–literally. She was driving to see her boyfriend during a wet, foggy morning when she suddenly took a curve too quickly. Before she knew it, her car was off the road and slamming into a tree.

Firefighters spent 3 hours trying to free Meagan as the car continued to collapse all around her. At one point, she was in danger of having to get both of her legs amputated. While finally she was rescued, she suffered two broken ankles, a broken wrist, two broken vertebrae, and a shattered pelvis.

And the man she had been driving to see that day didn’t seem to care at all.

In a viral Love What Matters post, Meagan wrote, “During my recovery, the man that I was dating couldn’t be bothered with being there for me. He came to see me a few times and would text and call, but with all that I had going on physically, I decided it was best to end things. I just couldn’t continue to be hurt and let down by someone when I needed them the most.”

After spending a couple months in therapy, she decided to try an online dating site. But every time she would talk to a man, he’d have the same reaction as her ex-boyfriend. They didn’t want to deal with her situation.

But then, one day out of the blue, another man messaged her and didn’t stop talking with her once he learned what she had been through. He wanted to meet her in person, despite her still being in a wheelchair and learning how to walk again.

So they watched a movie together. One movie led to another movie. And now, this year, they just got married.

She wrote, “Tyler met me during the worst time in my life and has been by my side since day one. He has helped me put my shoes on, he’s helped me learn to walk again, but most importantly, he’s shown me what real love is.”

Beautiful!
