Chris Gibson, author and skin care expert, is using his social media presence, which currently has half a million followers across YouTube and Instagram, to help people avoid misperceptions around the nutritional benefits of foods, omega oils, and red light therapy.

Chris has found there is often a push by large brands to give people false expectations that their products will start to have an immediate effect on the skin once people start using them. This type of marketing forces consumers to give up on one product and move to another which in turn drives more revenue for big brands. Gibson has had followers personally reach out to him seeking guidance on what types of products they should use after spending large amounts of money on multiple different skin care products.

Red light therapy is a type of photomedicine that uses light to treat skin and other types of health conditions such as physical injury, insomnia, and hair loss. When used as a skin care method red light therapy can improve the overall health of the skin using light at a wavelength of 620 to 750 nanometers. Through his YouTube channel, Gibson has put a focus on educating people on how long it takes for skin care products to start working, which usually takes around 90 days.

With a passion for helping people maintain healthy skin while looking as young as possible, Gibson has dedicated his social media channels to reviewing different skin care products and their ingredients if there are any. Gibson began his journey to becoming a skincare expert following his own battle with severe acne at a young age. After trying many different prescription medicines for his acne Gibson realized nothing had been working for him. This is when he began to seek out different products while changing his diet through which he found his acne began to clear up at a rapid rate.

Gibson began to expand his knowledge on how a healthy diet and certain products could clear acne when nothing else worked. This led to him writing his first book, “Acne Free in Three Days,” which became highly successful in North America and led to Gibson being featured on major news and radio networks over the span of five years. Gibson later went on to start an online community called  Skin So Fabulous that became the inspiration for his social media channels.

“My passion is helping people figure out how they can feel good about themselves and live a happy life and I am using my experience over the last 36 years with my own battle against severe acne and using that to write the first book and expand my knowledge about the best skin care products and ingredients that will be beneficial to people,” says Gibson.

As things like red light therapy continue to develop, Gibson plans to continue learning about the benefits it holds for people and how he can break the misconceptions around it, some of which have been people saying it burns the fat from peoples’ faces and other debunked claims. In the past year, Gibson has done several videos on red light therapy products including the science around it and how it works.

“My mission with the social media channels is to keep growing the number of subscribers I have and help as many people as possible in their journey to attaining healthier skin. Ideally, I would love to do more television appearances again, and I have been working on another book which I hope to release at the end of next year,” says Gibson. “I will always continue to keep learning and bring that knowledge to people all over the world.”
