Starbucks Bear Cup Sold Out in Seconds—and Now Walmart Has an Exact Dupe For Half the Price
The viral Starbucks bear cup vanished overnight. These adorable alternatives deliver the same cozy magic
Starbucks officially brought back its beloved holiday cups, and while fans are excited, there’s something else that they want even more. Yes, we are talking about the highly anticipated teddy bear cup you may have seen on social media, which, despite launching this morning, is already sold out at a lot of Starbucks locations. Not to worry, several dupes out there are just as adorable, fun and cozy as the Starbucks bear cup. We tracked them down to share them below.
The hype behind the sold-out Starbucks bear cup
On Thursday, November 6, Starbucks launched its Glass Starbucks Bearista Cold Cup, also known as the teddy bear cup. It’s clear, meant for cold drinks, costs $29.95 and according to the company, it “brings instant joy to every sip.” As of publication, the only way to get one is in stores, and unlike a lot of Starbucks’ other products, it cannot be pre-ordered through their app.

Even with all of those stipulations, fans of the beloved coffee chain went wild when they learned about the teddy bear cup, commenting things like “puts a 6-hour meeting on the calendar tomorrow a.m. so I have enough time to track one down” and “If I don’t get one of these I’ll cry” on Starbucks’ social media.
“I have a better chance at winning the lottery than I do of obtaining this cute bear cup”
Why the teddy bear cup is so hard to find (and fans are frustrated)

Others, however, voiced their concern over the cup and how hard it’s going to be to track one of the cups down, especially since stores reportedly got a very limited supply of the product.
“I think I have a better chance at winning the lottery than I do of obtaining this cute bear cup,” one Instagram user wrote.
“I got up at 4 am and drove to a location that specifically said it would have this cup. I was first in line, they didn’t have it. I drove to four more locations, none of them had it and said they never did,” another user wrote. “If you are going to excite people over this, then make sure ALL stores have supply. So many people are disappointed.”
Along with Starbucks, people are also reselling the cup on ebay for $300, proving just how popular they are.
Two adorable Starbucks bear cup dupes you can actually get
Fans at SUNY Geneseo were able to snag the cup in time—see the photo above—but many weren’t so lucky. If you’re one of the people who sadly couldn’t get their hands on a Starbucks teddy bear cup today, don’t worry! We are right there with you (this reporter even tried herself!). Lucky for all of us, we found some cute dupes that work just as well.
Special Supplies Honey Bear Straw Cup

At only $9.99 (a 1/3 of the price of the Starbucks bear), this cup is a perfect alternative. Not only is it bear-shaped, but it also comes with cleaning supplies, extra straws and is spill-proof!
“I wasn’t sure this straw cup would do what I wanted but I finally decided to give it a try,” one reviewer said. “It was worth every penny. It’s so cute and easy to use and doesn’t spill if it gets tipped over either!”
2 Pack Honey Bear Straw Cups

If the hat was what drew you to the Starbucks teddy bear cup, then we recommend this one as a dupe. For $15.99, not only do you get two cups, but you also get four different hat colors that you can mix up whenever you want.
“I’m really happy with these cups. They are cute, practical, and functional,” says one reviewer. “I really appreciated that the set came with both a straw brush and a bottle brush. Those tools are essential and save me from having to dig around for the right size cleaning brush.”
A look at Walmart’s new teddy dear cup

Along with the two Amazon dupes, Walmart recently announced that they were launching a glass bear cup with a har and a lid. It comes in a variety of colors, costs $13.99 and is available online.
This news comes after a variety of social media accounts joked about taking a Walmart bear shaped honey jar, emptying it out and then replacing it with coffee.
Naturally the internet loved it, with people commenting things like “I thought of this when I first seen the cup” and “From birkins to bear cups, you really can find it all at @walmart,” on the post.
Walmart themselves even joined in on the fun, comment on one post “We love great value.”
