MedVi offers fast GLP-1 medication approval
Getting approved for GLP-1 medication through MedVi is like many other telehealth providers. First, MedVi will have you fill out a short health questionnaire. This took me less than five minutes. Once you complete the payment checkout page, MedVi will email you within 24-48 hours to schedule a virtual consultation with one of their physicians.
The agent I spoke to on the phone said, depending on your medical history and what state you live in, you may not need a virtual consultation. However, you should still expect to complete a video/phone call. During the consultation, the physician will review your intake form and medical history. If you meet certain qualifications, this physician will prescribe GLP-1 medication.
Active supply of compounded GLP-1 medication with MedVi
MedVi offers several affordable GLP-1 options. The cheapest option is compounded semaglutide, which is $179 for your first month and $299 for each monthly refill after. Oral semaglutide tablets are $279 for the first month and $399 each month after.
Next are tirzepatide injections at $279 for your first month and $499 for each refill. Oral tirzepatide is the same price as oral semaglutide at $279 for the first month and $399 each month after. If you want name-brand options, Ozempic is available at $795 for the first month and $995 each month after. Wegovy is $795 for the first month and $995 each month after. According to a MedVi customer service agent:
“The introductory pricing listed above is currently the only discount or promotion available.”
With the FDA’s recent announcement that semaglutide and tirzepatide would no longer be made by compounding pharmacies, I asked MedVi about shortages. An agent told me, “Regarding compounded semaglutide, we are still providing it at this time, and we have not received any updates indicating supply issues or an expected shortage in the near future.” If you decide to take compounded GLP-1 medication, there is a possibility that MedVi (or any telehealth provider) can run out of its supply and no longer provide medication.
According to a customer service representative, MedVi is available in most states, but they couldn’t provide a thorough list due to state regulations. I was approved in California, but please reach out to MedVi to see if their services are available in your area.

MedVi is fairly new in the GLP-1 marketplace
Founded in 2024, MedVi is a telehealth platform that focuses exclusively on getting patients access to GLP-1 medications for weight loss, like compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide. While MedVi partners with OpenLoop, a company that provides medical infrastructure and clinician oversight for many telehealth providers, details about MedVi’s ownership or medical directors are not publicly listed on its website. MedVi does have fairly active social media accounts and followings, however.
MedVi’s partnership with OpenLoop
MedVi collaborates with OpenLoop, a white-label telehealth company. In this context, “white-label” means that OpenLoop provides the underlying infrastructure, such as medical staffing, technology platforms and regulatory compliance. This allows MedVi to offer healthcare services under its own brand. Dr. Jon Lensing and Christian Williams founded OpenLoop, which enables healthcare startups like MedVi to deliver nationwide care efficiently.
Reputation and customer feedback
Customer experiences with MedVi are mixed. On Trustpilot, where the company has more than 9,000 reviews, many users describe positive interactions, including convenience, affordability and successful weight loss outcomes.
However, a small number of customers report challenges related to billing, subscription cancellations or delays in receiving medication. Similar concerns are discussed in online forums and social media posts. As with many telehealth platforms, satisfaction can vary depending on individual circumstances and expectations.
Potential customers should review current customer feedback and carefully read MedVi’s terms of service before starting treatment.
MedVi has LegitScript certification as a pharmacy and telemedicine website
MedVi is LegitScript-certified, which means it meets recognized standards for safety, legality and transparency in telemedicine. This certification helps ensure the platform complies with relevant healthcare regulations. Some payment processors also require it for telehealth companies to accept payments online.
Important distinction between MedVi and other similarly named brands
It’s worth noting that MedVi is sometimes confused with similarly named companies like Medvidi and Medivis, which operate in different healthcare sectors. When researching or seeking services, make sure you’re referencing the correct company to avoid confusion.
MedVi does not accept insurance
Since MedVi focuses primarily on compounded medications, insurance is generally a non-issue since health insurance only covers name-brand options. However, if MedVi recommends a name-brand treatment to you, they say that your insurance may cover the cost in the form of a reimbursement. From MedVi’s website:
“While all MedVi prescriptions are cash-pay, your insurance may reimburse you for branded options. We keep compounded medications fairly priced so no insurance is necessary while still working toward your goal weight.”
I received excellent customer service from MedVi
MedVi offers free support to its customers and patients via phone and email. While there’s no toll-free number listed on MedVi’s website, it’s Facebook page offers an alternative toll-free number. I tested all three contact options during my mystery shopping inquiries.

- Phone #1: (323) 690-1564
- Phone #2: (844) 357-3601

Online experience
MedVi has a very extensive website. There’s a lot to take in, but it’s direct and easy to navigate. MedVi, like other online GLP-1 brands, encourages you to fill out their qualifying questionnaire many times on the site. There’s a helpful FAQ section that tells you what to expect, and upfront pricing is one of the first items you see. Some telehealth providers make you fill out forms or speak to a doctor before you can get pricing.
I also liked that when I filled out the questionnaire, MedVi gave me several options (oral, injection, type of medication). Other providers I’ve reviewed didn’t give me options right away.
Customer experience
During my mystery shopping inquiries, I received great customer support from MedVi. First, I emailed them and got an answer within 12 minutes. They were very helpful and even responded quickly when I had follow-up questions. I tested MedVi’s customer support line and received more helpful information.
The agent was very helpful and was able to answer my questions. My only complaint was that she was difficult to understand, so I had to make her repeat herself a couple of times. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and patient, which is not always the easiest thing to do (I managed call centers for 10 years).

Medication generally ships in 7-10 business days
After a virtual consultation with your assigned MedVi provider, they will submit your GLP-1 prescription to their pharmacy. The pharmacy will process and ship your medication, which typically takes around 7-10 business days after the consultation.
Getting your medication refilled is fairly straightforward. Here’s what an agent told me: “We’ll send you a check-in form before your renewal date to make sure everything is on track and to see if you have any updates or requests (like a dose adjustment). Once that’s completed, your monthly refill will be processed, and the card on file will be charged automatically.”
“If you ever need to change your dose or skip a month, just let us know when you complete the check-in form, and we’ll take care of it for you!”

MedVi could be a decent GLP-1 option but do your research first
MedVi delivers on many of the things you might look for in a GLP-1 telehealth provider: Competitive pricing, fast approvals and great customer support. I found the site easy to navigate, the options clearly explained and the customer service team knowledgeable and helpful. While online reviews are not always verifiable, you should still consider them when doing research.
If you’re looking for a lower-cost alternative to name-brand GLP-1 medications and prefer the convenience of telehealth, MedVi could be a solid choice, especially if you value transparency and quick access to care. However, make sure you’re visiting MedVi.org, not similarly named medical companies like Medvidi or Medivis. As always, talk to a licensed provider to make sure any treatment plan is right for you.
