It's not her face that's causing people in 2015 to take a second look at Elsie Rebecca Scheel, the 24-year-old that Cornell University doctors dubbed THE perfect woman back in 1912. It's Scheel's measurements and body weight that have us buzzing.
The 5'7" New Yorker was was studying in Brooklyn, NY, when she travelled upstate to Ithaca to be looked at by the medical pros. She weighed 171 pounds, and she had a 34.6-inch bust, a 30.3-inch waist, and hips that measured 40.4 inches. Beefsteak was the "mainstay" of this "ardent suffragette," a New York Times reporter wrote.
Guess pear-shaped was considered perfection then. How refreshing!
