2 Easy Ways to Watch Your Favorite Classic TV Shows Online for Free

There’s plenty of new hits to stream, too!

Listen up, classic TV fans: There’s no need to pay a monthly subscription to stream your favorite shows from the past. We’re talking about every episode of beloved series like The Dick Van Dyke Show, Three’s Company, and Cheers without paying a single cent for all the laughs.

PlutoTV and Peacock, owned by CBS and NBC respectively, both boast impressive lists of not just older TV shows, but newer hits, movies, concerts, sports, and more. Honestly, you can get lost scrolling through all of the channels on both platforms — but we’re partial to the old school options.

When it comes to PlutoTV, that’s where you’ll find The Dick Van Dyke Show and Three’s Company along with classics like Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, The Addam’s Family, and My Favorite Martian. You don’t even need to sign up before streaming your show, but you can create an account if you’d like to keep track of what you’ve watched. And, yes, you will have to put up with a few commercials in order to enjoy the content free of charge. But that makes it feel even more like the old days, even if the ads are obviously more modern than what originally aired between scenes of Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore’s goofy domestic bliss.

For Peacock, you can tune into all the episodes of Cheers, plus The Munsters, Murder, She Wrote, and a few seasons of The Carol Burnett Show. This platform does require you to sign up for an account before you can start streaming, but it’s still free. (There are two premium options, both with more content and one without ads — but we’re trying to save money here, remember?)

As we mentioned, there are also plenty of new shows to choose from on each as well, like Law & Order: SVU and This Is Us on Peacock. You can even stay up to date on Days of Our Lives! Over on PlutoTV, they don’t seem to offer too many shows currently airing on their channels, but do have quite a few newer titles from more recent decades, like Kitchen Nightmare and Leverage.

The NBC platform also has one more added bonus over its CBS counterpart: a search function. That said, it’s still easy to super navigate PlutoTV from any device and stumble upon exactly what you wanted to binge. And since they’re totally free, there’s no harm in signing up to stream from both for all the free entertainment you could ever hope want!
