Royal Baby Alert: Princess Eugenie and Husband Welcome Son
The royal family just got bigger! Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their son this morning.
The couple shared their happy news on Instagram with a sweet black and white photo showing each of their hands holding onto their little guy’s tiny fingers. The new mom kept her caption simple with just a few celebratory blue heart emojis.
Although the new parents were mum on details — there’s no word on the newborn’s name — the royal family’s official website did reveal a bit more info. The baby arrived at 8:55 a.m. at Portland Hospital in London. This is not only the same hospital where Meghan Markle gave birth to her and Prince Harry’s son, Archie, but also where Eugenie and older sister Beatrice were born, too!
The statement adds that the baby weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce, and that both he and mom are doing fine. This is the ninth great-grandchild for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, and the first grandchild for the Duke and Duchess of York, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. The statement says the whole family is “delighted with the news.”
Eugenie first announced she was pregnant in September last year, also done by posting an adorable photo on her Instagram page. Similarly, the snap included just her and Brooksbank’s hands as they held a pair of teddy bear-shaped baby shoes.
We can’t wait to see their little one wearing these soon! And, of course, hopefully learning what name they give him. Considering Eugenie’s own unique moniker, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the new parents get just as creative with their son’s name!
