Melani Sanders is the fearless, refreshingly real woman behind the We Do Not Care Club, a sisterhood built on honesty, hilarity and the shared experience of perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause. With more than 4 million followers across social media, Sanders has transformed what started as a vulnerable Instagram post into a global movement. Through her signature dry humor, she chronicles her daily life and shares candid stories about mood swings, body changes, and the liberating power of letting go.

“All of us women going through this stage of our lives—we are very similar and can relate to each other in so many ways,” Sanders tells Woman’s World. “I think that we are at the point now within the WDNCC that we are feeling seen.”

Here, we share what you need to know about her new book, The Official We Do Not Care Club Handbook, and reveal which of your favorite celebrities are proud members of the groundbreaking club.

The Official Handbook: How to Join the Club

Sanders’ new book, The Official We Do Not Care Club Handbook, released on Thursday, January 13, is a step-by-step guide for women who want to not only join the club but proudly embrace it.

Her candid and empowering guide includes personal stories, practical tips for dealing with mood swings, body changes and evolving relationships, as well as exercises to help women shed societal expectations and embrace self-care, authenticity and humor.

“For too many of us, all or nothing has been our way of life. But with so much changing right now, we can also learn new habits,” Sanders writes. “We can teach this old dog new tricks. Instead of telling ourselves, ‘That’s just the way I am,’ we can look at this time as an opportunity to evolve. I do believe we walk around a lot lighter when we take off our superwoman capes. And we get extra power knowing we have Sisters walking beside us.”

Why Celebrities love The We Do Not Care Club

When Sanders launched the We Do Not Care Club she had no idea how many women would relate—including a slew of celebrity members such as Drew Barrymore, Ashley Judd, Halle Berry and more.

Sanders’ empowering message about shedding expectations struck a chord with Judd, who shared a video post last summer with the caption, “We Don’t Care Club: Baltic Sea Edition” where she happily frolicked in the ocean. “Hi, I’m Ashley and I’m a member of the We Don’t Care Club,” she be- gan on Instagram. Then, she walked away and said to the camera, “Oh yeah, I probably have cellulite. I don’t care.”

Sanders has also appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show, where Valerie Bertinelli, Berry and Barrymore received her enthusiastically. “You really touched a nerve for sure,” Bertinelli said. “We’ve all been feeling that, but almost afraid to say it and you just said it for all of us. Now we’re all one big family. We all do not care.”

Berry added, “It’s okay to say that. It’s okay to act like you don’t care. It’s okay to start [prioritizing] our health and taking care of ourselves.” Sanders says women are realizing they’re not alone. “We’re all in this together, so the weight isn’t heavy anymore.”
