Ree Drummond is not the only family member fawning over her new (and first) grand baby. Her eldest daughter, Alex Drummond Scott, recently shared sweet photos of brother Bryce meeting his newborn niece for the first time. Keep reading to see the adorable photo and the rest of the Drummond crew’s reaction to the new addition!

Bryce Drummond’s sweet first meeting with Baby Sofia: Alex shares photos

On January 19, Alex shared photos on her Instagram story of her younger brother, Bryce, with a beaming smile holding and admiring his month-old niece Sofia.

“Finally got to meet her uncle Bryce,” Alex wrote of her daughter. She posted a second photo of Bryce and Sofia with the caption “FUNcle vibes.”

While Alex lives in Dallas, Texas, with her husband Mauricio Scott and little Sofia, Bryce attends Oklahoma State University.

Paige Drummond and Fiancé David Dote on Baby Sofia: a first-time aunt’s joy

Alex’s sister, Paige, is in awe of both her niece and her big sister.

“The most beautiful baby girl and momma,” Paige commented on Alex’s birth announcement. “I’m so so proud of you and love you so much.”

Ree also shared that Paige was nearby when Sofia was born, as the Pioneer Woman star, her husband Ladd and Paige all headed to Dallas when they received word that Sofia’s arrival was imminent.

She also included a glimpse at a sweet moment between Paige and Sofia from the hospital in her blog post.

Paige’s fiancé, David, even started practicing his uncle skills. In Ree’s roundup of her favorite early pictures of Sofia, she included a snap of David holding the bundle of joy.

“Paige and her fiancé, David, came over on Sofia’s first day back home, and I love this photo!,” Ree wrote. “As is the case with most young men in their twenties, he hasn’t had a whole lot of baby experience, so it was fun to watch him jump right in and enjoy his niece (or soon-to-be niece, if we’re being technical). Paige and David’s wedding is in May so they have a little time to relax, and while I don’t think they will be rushing into parenthood, I think it was fun for them to get this tiny glimpse at what might be possible for them one day!”

Ree and Ladd Drummond celebrate grandparenthood with Baby Sofia

Of course, Ree and Ladd are over the moon for their daughter and her family. In fact, Ree included a photo of the grandparents gazing lovingly at Sofia in the hospital after she made her grand entrance in two separate blog posts on her website.

“You’ve seen this one before, but just wanted to share again because I love the pride and love on Ladd’s face,” she wrote.

This was also the photo the Food Network host chose to debut Sofia to the world on her Instagram.

“Our first baby had her first baby,” she captioned the post. “Thank you Lord, we will never be the same.”

“Sofia loves her grandparents already,” new mom Alex gushed.

After meeting Sofia, Ree and Ladd (who Alex said will likely hold the titles of ReeRee and Papa unless Sofia decides otherwise), headed back to the Drummond Ranch so Ladd could continue tending to his cattle.

In true mom and grandma fashion, though, Ree revealed within 24 hours she had “whipped a figurative U-turn and headed back to Dallas to help Alex and Mauricio during their first day back home.”

And, while Ree frequently expresses her desire to live closer to her granddaughter, she acknowledges that—despite her many Zillow browsing sessions—it’s highly unlikely that she’ll be buying a home in Dallas anytime soon. Still, she’ll take as many road trips as possible.

“Home is where Sofia is,” she captioned a video of herself holding Sofia as the baby watched twinkling Christmas tree lights in amazement. “I need a vehicle with better gas mileage.”
