Country music and Taylor Sheridan? Count us in! It was recently announced that singer/songwriter Morgan Wade would be joining the Dutton Ranch cast as a woman named Carol, a bartender at the local bar in Rio Paloma, Texas. But before you go binge the show, you might want to learn more about Wade, specifically who she has toured with and what award she recently received from Rolling Stone. Read on for more.

Get to know Morgan Wade

Wade was born in Floyd, Virginia in 1994. She started singing at a young age and has since released five studio albums, and has also toured with some of the biggest names in country music, including Chris Stapleton, Zach Bryan, Luke Combs and Alanis Morissette.

“I’ve always been pretty honest, even as a kid writing songs for myself, because it was a way for me to release what I was struggling with,” Wade told Mindful Melody in 2021. “That’s the only way I know how to write. Sometimes I’m, like, ‘Did I maybe say too much?’—but generally those turn out to be my best songs! I feel like a lot of times if I’m scared to release something because I’m scared of being judged, then it’s probably the best thing for me to just put it out there.”

“I think it’s interesting. If you turn on Country radio over here it’s just men, and having been around ‘Southern men’ growing up, they don’t talk about emotions. They don’t talk about processing feelings. They’re told, ‘You’re a man, you don’t cry,’” she continued. “Men are told not to be weak and that women talk about their feelings, but men don’t—which is so stupid, because everyone should talk about their feelings. So I think it does make sense that I’m hearing a lot of that on Country radio, because it’s mainly men there. It needs to change.”

Since releasing her albums, Wade has earned several different awards and accolades. One of the most notable ones was when her album Reckless was named  the Best Americana Album of the Year by Rolling Stone.

“I certainly didn’t expect it [Reckless] to do as well as it has done. I thought I would sell a couple of records and be able to book a couple of shows off the back of it, but it definitely exceeded my expectations,” Wade told Americana UK in 2022. “I’m definitely a different person; we recorded Reckless two years ago and I was writing those songs one and two years before that, so it is about four years old for me. I think I’ve grown a lot from that, and it is kind of nice to look back on those songs as memories but not to be in the same place.”

Is Morgan Wade dating anyone?

Over the past couple of years there has been some speculation that Wade was dating Kyle Richards from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but they are apparently just friends.

“People are always going to be curious and talk in this world, and I know that,” Richards told USA Today in December 2025.

A look at Morgan Wade’s role in ‘Dutton Ranch’

As mentioned above, Wade will play Carol in Dutton Ranch. It’s expected to be a recurring role with the singer saying, “Excited to finally share this.”

“Proud to be part of @duttonranch and grateful for the opportunity. Can’t wait for y’all to see,” her Instagram post continued.

Dutton Ranch airs on May 15 on Paramount and Paramount+.
