Friends and The Morning Show actress Jennifer Aniston has a new love interest, and to everyone’s surprise, he’s not an actor–he’s an author and hypnotist named Jim Curtis. And now, a little less than a year after the two were first linked together, he is opening up about what really happened between the two of them. We break down what you need to know about their relationship below!

The beginning of Jennifer Aniston and Jim Curtis

In July of 2025, Aniston, age 56, and Curtis, age 50, were first linked together. Sources said they were happy, but wanted to keep it private. Despite that, Curtis recently went on the Today show to promote his newly-authored The Book of Possibility, coming out in September, and shared how exactly the two met and got together.

“The origin story? We were just introduced by friends,” Curtis told host Craig Melvin. “Yeah, that’s it, we found out that we had mutual friends and we started to just chat. It took a long time. We chatted for a long time, and we became close.”

During that interview, Curtis also shared that he and Aniston have been together for “a long time. Months now, almost close to a year.”

Before this interview, Aniston and Curtis had been seen out in public together quite a few times. They had also appeared on each other’s social media accounts. In fact, in November of 2025, Aniston even posted a photo of them together, saying, “Happy birthday, my love. Cherished.”

How Jennifer Aniston feels about Jim Curtis’ job

For a lot of people, hypnotherapy might seem like an odd job choice. In a November 2025 interview with Elle, though, Aniston said that she actually loves that that’s her boyfriend’s vocation.

“He’s quite extraordinary and helps many, many people,” the actress said. “He’s very special, very normal and very kind, and wants to help people heal, move through their trauma and stagnation into clarity. It’s a beautiful thing to commit your life to.”

What’s next for Jennifer Aniston and Jim Curtis

As of publication, there is no news on what exactly the two lovebirds are going to do next.

Even so, a source close to the couple told People magazine that the two are going to remain happy and together for as long as they possibly can.

“She had a great end to the year and feels really good about where things are with Jim,” the source said. “She’s excited about this new year and what’s ahead, especially with Jim by her side now. Jen’s always been fine on her own and comfortable being single, but her relationship with Jim is just different.”

“She’s very happy and comfortable,” the source adds. “He’s just so sweet and supportive of her. He makes her everyday life better.”

Prior to this relationship, Aniston was married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005. She then married Justin Theroux in 2015, but they got divorced in 2018. She has no children, but said that she spent a lot of her life wanting them.

“I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,” she told Allure in 2022. “All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think about it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed.”

Curtis, on the other hand, does have a son named Aidan, whom he shares with ex-wife Rachel Napolitano-Curtis. The two were married from 1999 to 2003, and are believed to be friendly now.

Currently, there is no news on whether Curtis’ son has met Aniston yet.

Cheers to the happy couple—we could not be happier for her!
