Treat Williams’ career on screen
The actor was beloved for his role in films like Hair (1979) and later, Deep Rising (1998). In 2002, he joined the cast of Everwood as Dr. Andy Brown, a big city surgeon who relocates his family from New York to the cozy community of Everwood after the passing of his wife. Williams was beloved for his role in this early 2000s classic, and the actor continued building a successful career after the series concluded in 2006. The actor would go on to make a name for himself in the Hallmark sphere, appearing in films like The Christmas House (2020) and The Christmas House 2: Deck Those Halls (2021), and he reentered the world of television dramas when he brought the character of Mick O’Brien to life on Chesapeake Shores. He even made an appearance in Blue Bloods!

Treat Williams’ death was a tragedy
On June 12, 2023, Treat Williams was sadly killed while riding his motorcycle when a vehicle turned left into his lane, hitting him. After suffering critical injuries, the actor tragically passed away at 71 years old. After his passing, the tributes poured in from former costars who felt lucky to work with him and get to know him over the years, but hearts broke for the cast of Everwood, who spent years by his side while filming.
‘Everwood’ cast paid sweet tributes to Treat Williams
In the wake of Treat’s death, Gregory Smith, Sarah Drew, Chris Pratt and more members of the Everwood cast remembered his life and legacy.“Treat was a wonderful man and a brilliant actor. Above all, he loved his family so much. I’m very grateful for the time I got to spend as part of his extended TV family. He made an indelible impression on me during my most formative years,” said Smith in a statement to People. “My experience working with Treat on Everwood was formative in my life and career. We had a beautiful and extremely close-knit family during our years in Salt Lake City. I learned so much from Treat’s talent and leadership and we have lost a bright light today. My heart goes out to his family,” shared Sarah Drew.

Chris Pratt also paid tribute on Instagram, writing, “It’s an incredibly sad season for the cast and crew of Everwood. We’re still reeling from the loss of John Beasley and yesterday we lost Treat Williams as well. Both men were exceptional actors, wonderful husbands, fathers and friends. They will be missed tremendously. I learned a great deal from working with each of them.”
Though Treat Williams’ time was cut heartbreakingly short, his legacy lives on through the countless performances that continue to touch hearts.
