When it comes to Taylor Sheridan ranches, most people think of 6666 (pronounced four sixes), but as it turns out, there’s another one that’s a little bit smaller, but just as iconic. It’s called the Bosque Ranch, and below we share everything you need to know about it, including its size, specialty and what event Sheridan likes to host there.

What to know about the Bosque Ranch

Located in Weatherford, Texas, the Bosque Ranch is a 600-acre property that Sheridan purchased in 2013 after deciding to leave Los Angeles.

“I didn’t want to raise my son in LA and I didn’t want to have to look him in the eye and tell him I couldn’t take him to a baseball game because I had an audition for a Windex commercial,’” Sheridan told the Austin American-Statesman in 2017, per the Daily Mail

Sheridan now splits his time between the 6666 and the Bosque Ranch, and while it’s unclear which one is his favorite, our money is on the latter because it focuses on horses, which we know the writer loves.

“My goal with Bosque Ranch is to create an experience for the spectator while greatly enhancing the opportunities for the riders. In my ‘other’ job, I am a star maker and a career reviver. I will do the same thing in this space—I will make stars of the horses and stars of the riders. I will continue to attract new participants to these various disciplines, but more importantly, I will continue creating an experience that captivates an audience,” Sheridan said in a statement on the ranches’ website.

Bosque Ranch has also appeared on screen. In a memorable Yellowstone Season 5 scene, Sheridan’s character, Travis, rides a horse he’s hoping to sell—and here’s the fun part: the horse actually belonged to Sheridan.

“All the horses, for the most part in our business, are terrible,” Sheridan said on the Welcome Back to Yellowstone: The Official Yellowstone Podcast in 2024. “They’re not very broke, they’re not very safe, which is one of the reasons you don’t see actors very often. And I didn’t want to do that, so I bought all the horses for the show and then taught the actors how to ride them.”

Can you visit the Bosque Ranch?

Yes, you can visit the Bosque Ranch if you want, but only if you attend the “Bosque Ranch Live” concert, which features live music, conversations with Yellowstone cast and crew members and maybe even an appearance from Sheridan himself.

This year’s concert will be held on September 12, 2026, and for more information, click here

“We are thrilled to be back for another year,” Sheridan said in a statement to Billboard. “As a storyteller, I have the deepest respect for the way country music connects with fans. I feel extremely lucky that Bosque Ranch Live has an opportunity this year to introduce our Speakers Series, full of our wonderful crafts family.”
