What we know about ‘Yellowstone’ spinoff, ‘The Madison’
The Madison—originally titled 2024—is expected to follow a New York City family after they decide to move to Madison River Valley in Montana. It will star Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Matthew Fox, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Beau Garrett, Ben Schnetzer, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Danielle Vasinova, Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer.
“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace,” Chris McCarthy, the Paramount Global co-CEO and the president and CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a statement. “She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, The Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”

The Madison releases on Paramount+ on Sunday, March 14. There will be six episodes and, according to a press release obtained by Woman’s World, those installments are “A heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”
A look back at the Dutton family
The Duttons are the central family in Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe. They appear in 1883, 1923 and Yellowstone, and while there are a lot of them, there are some key members that really impact the plot.
In 1883, the key Duttons include James (Tim McGraw), Margaret (Faith Hill) and Elsa (Isabel May), while in 1923, the key Duttons are Jacob (Harrison Ford), Cara (Helen Mirren), Spencer (Brandon Sklenar), Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer), Jack (Darren Mann) and Elizabeth (Michelle Randolph).

In Yellowstone, the central Duttons are John III (Kevin Costner), Jamie (Wes Bentley), Beth (Kelly Reilly), Kayce (Luke Grimes), Monica (Kelsey Asbille) and Tate (Brecken Merrill).
“I love gearing up to play her, because there’s an adrenaline to Beth and it’s very energizing,” Reilly told Town and Country magazine of playing Beth Dutton in November of 2024. “But it’s also incredibly gnarly. I have to hide all of me away to put some of that on. I love her, but I can’t live with her.”

Do the Duttons feature in ‘The Madison?’
As of publication, the Duttons are not expected to be in The Madison, despite the show being a part of the Yellowstone universe. That’s not to say that they won’t be, though.
Since the show is set in modern-day Montana, there is a chance that Kaycee and Beth could appear in The Madison since they both have spinoff shows set in the same area.

There is also a chance that some of the actors who brought the Duttons to life could appear in the show, just in different roles. After all, Sheridan is known for casting actors in a variety of his projects. This includes Vasinova, who was in 1923 before getting cast in The Madison.
“I’m incredibly honored to join The Madison and bring Kestrel Harris to life,” Vasinova told Variety Australia in April of 2025. “Taylor Sheridan has created such a rich, immersive world, and I’m excited to explore this character’s journey within the Yellowstone universe.”
