Berto Colón Reveals What He Knows About ‘Dutton Ranch’ Season 2 (Exclusive)
The actor opens up about filming, alliances and what's ahead
Berto Colón is opening up about Dutton Ranch Season 2 and the information he has might not be what you would expect. In a recent interview with Woman’s World, the actor revealed what he knows so far about the highly anticipated second season, including when he thinks they will head back down to Texas to film. Read on for more.
Berto Colón talks ‘Dutton Ranch’
Dutton Ranch is a Yellowstone spinoff that follows Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) after the move from Montana to Texas to start their own ranch. Colón plays Miguel, a cowboy at the rival ranch 10-Petal.
“I had auditioned for all of Taylor Sheridan’s shows—except Mayor of Kingstown—and just a week or two before I got Dutton Ranch I’d read for Marshals [the other Yellowstone spinoff], and I was really amped about that. I thought it was a good script, a great role. Then this came along, and I was thrilled,” Colón admits. “I was ready. I was so jacked up about getting down there—wanting to work with this man and be in his world—that I jumped at the opportunity. And it’s lived up to everything I expected, and more.”
Also living up to his expectations? Season 2! According to Colón, he’s ready to start filming as soon as possible.
“I know there is going to be the follow-up of that collaboration between the Dutton and 10-Petal ranches,” he says. “We left off with some pretty intense pressure points, and what comes next will be the development and escalation of those conflicts—watching certain alliances come together, and just as surely, seeing how many of them start to fracture. I know that’s vague, but honestly, that’s all I know so far. And based on how things unfolded before, I’d expect more of the same—just bigger.”
“I do know that when we get going again—probably sometime in early 2027, if not sooner—things could shift,” he continues. “In this business, you rarely start earlier than planned; more often than not, schedules slide a bit later than you’re first told. For Season 1 we had four—maybe five—episodes written. Then, once we got down there, we’d get the next episode, and then the next and the next. So we were learning the story as we went. We were figuring out our footing in real time. And for supporting characters like me, it’s a lot of hoping and waiting to see where things go.”
Berto Colón reveals what he’s got lined up
While he’s waiting to head back to Texas, Colón has a few exciting projects coming up, including starring as Joe the Doorman in Season 13 of American Horror Story.
“It’s a New York-set concept, with a penthouse at the center of it. There are some wild, demonic, evil happenings in this world. I can’t reveal more than that, but I can say it’s a New York story—gothic, mysterious and steeped in the underground,” he teases. “Think devil-worshipping, witches and a whole lot of craziness. Plus, another amazing cast. And since it’s the 13th season, it feels like a special one. I believe it’s slated to premiere around October, probably right around Halloween.”
Along with that, Colón has another film, I’m Not Her, coming out later this year, and he’s gearing up to host his annual gala with the Cristian Rivera Foundation, which works to find a cure for the childhood brain cancer Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).
“This foundation is something I’d always been interested in being part of, I just didn’t quite know how to get into it. It’s a way for me to give back for all the grace and gratitude I feel, for being so lucky to be living my dream, so to speak,” Colón says. “We’re very close to figuring out a way to eradicate this forever. I’m hoping we can make a massive announcement at the gala—and that by the end of 2026, we’ll be saving more lives and maybe even eradicating the disease altogether. I’m so excited to be part of it.”
