What is ‘Ransom Canyon’ about?
Ransom Canyon made its way to screens at the right time: when love for the western genre was at an all-time high. Luckily for those at the helm of this series, it still is. The series centers around three Texas ranches and the folks who run them. Josh Duhamel leads the way as Staten Kirkland, who runs the Double K Ranch, and throughout the series, we see him going head-to-head with Davis Collins (Eoin Macken), who runs Bar W Ranch. Cap Fuller, played by James Brolin, ran Fuller Ranch before his passing in Season 1. Throughout the series, the lives of these ranchers and the folks who work their land intertwine time and time again. From love triangles involving the charming Quinn O’Grady (Minka Kelly) to secrets hidden by hunky farmhands like Yancy Grey (Jack Schumacher), this series had us hooked every step of the way.
Inside ‘Ransom Canyon’ Season 2
In the second season of Ransom Canyon, we will jump ahead six months, and Quinn is just finding her footing in Ransom Canyon again after being away in New York. With the woman he cares so deeply about back in his life, it’s up to Staten to try and fix the mess between them, and it’s up to Quinn to decide what she truly wants for herself and her future. Meanwhile, things are shaky to say the least between Ellie and Yancy, as his secret wife was a shock nobody expected.
While drama is most definitely on the horizon, creator April Blair revealed to Tudum that the season won’t be all conflict. “Season 1 was fighting these outside forces that were coming in and threatening a way of life. Season 2 is really about community, rebuilding in the wake of that, and coming together. There’s definitely a lightness and hopefulness in Season 2.”
