‘Reign’ Stars Revisit On-Set Memories and Share Where Their Lives Have Taken Them Now
It was inspired by real-life events and featured beautiful costuming and swoon-worthy love stories
Glitz, glamour and beautiful ball gowns—the hit early 2010s historical TV show Reign had it all. The plot was based on the real-life story of Mary, Queen of Scots in the 1500s before, during and after her marriage to Prince Francis II of France. We won’t give too much away for fear of spoilers, but trust us when we say it is swoonworthy, dramatic, heartfelt and sad all in one. The show itself ran from 2013 to 2017, and now, over five years later, we have decided to find out what the cast of Reign has been up to since it ended. Some went on to star in hit shows like Grey’s Anatomy, while others have taken a step back from acting. To discover who’s who, keep scrolling!
Adelaide Kane as Mary Queen of Scots (a.k.a. Mary Stuart)

Adelaide Kane is an Australian actress best known for things like Neighbours (2007), Power Rangers R.P.M (2009), Teen Wolf (2013), Once Upon a Time (2017 to 2018), This Is Us (2020), SEAL Team (2019 to 2020) and Grey’s Anatomy (2022 to present). In Reign, she plays Mary, Queen of Scots, and is one of the few cast members to appear in every episode.
“I’ve never played a character like her before,” Kane told Collider of her character in 2013. “She’s a very strong young woman. I just really related to that whole thing of being out of her element…I’ve felt out of place many, many times in my life, and I probably will continue to do so. Everybody does.”
Kane is 34 years old and believed to be single.
Toby Regbo as Prince Francis II

When he first appeared in Reign as Mary’s love interest, Prince Francis, viewers quickly fell in love with him. His other credits include Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010), The Last Kingdom (2017 to 2020), Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018), A Discovery of Witches (2022) and Belgravia: The Next Chapter (2024).
“It’s been an absolute pleasure,” Regbo posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) in 2015. “I want to say a massive thank you to you, the fans, who make it so worthwhile. I know I’m not the greatest on social media, but your passion and love for the show do not go unnoticed. The almost constant stream of support is so touching and much appreciated. You guys put in just as much effort supporting the show as we do making it. Thank you all. It’s been a blast being the king.”
Regbo is 33 years old and originally from Hammersmith, London, United Kingdom.
Megan Follows as Catherine de’ Medici, Queen of France

Megan Follows is an actress who has worked on projects like Matt and Jenny (1979 to 1980), Domestic Life (1984), Silver Bullet (1985), Anne of Green Gables (1985), Second Changes (1993 to 1994), Heartland (2009 to 2021), My Dead Mom (2024) and Stealing the Sky (2025). In Reign, she plays Catherine de’ Medici, Prince Francis’ mother.
“I look back at it with tremendous gratitude,” Follows said of the show, per TV Insider. “That I got to play such a great role–a young woman who was not defined by her male counterparts but the driving force in the story–was a gift. I didn’t realize then how rare that was.”
Follows is 57 years old and has two children.
Celina Sinden as Greer Castleroy

Before Reign, Celina Sinden had not acted on screen before. Since then, though, she has been in The Outpost (2019), The Retreat (2021) and Breaking Point (2023).

Coombs is 41 years old and originally from Vancouver, Canada.
Anna Popplewell as Lola Narcisse

Anna Popplewell is most recognizable for her role as Susan Pevensie in the Narnia series. She has also been in The Little Vampire (2000), The Gallery (2022) and The Nun II (2023). In Reign, she plays Lola Narcisse, one of Mary’s ladies in waiting.
“The costumes are really fun on this and kind of a mash-up. It’ll be like a Tudor-style corset with custom-made sleeves and a ’30s skirt with Oscar de la Renta earrings and Marni shoes,” the actress told Harper’s Bazaar in 2013. “It’s its own fashion world.”
Popplewell is 36 years old and has been married to Sam Caird since 2016.
Craig Parker as Stéphane Narcisse

Craig Parker stole everyone’s hearts as the handsome Stéphane Narcisse in Reign. The actor’s other works include Xena: Warrior Princess (1997 to 2001), The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002), Diplomatic Immunity (2009), Legend of the Seeker (2008 to 2010) and Good Trouble (2021 to 2024).
“He’s the best character in the show, obviously,” the actor told Talk Nerdy With Us of his role in 2015. “I think mostly Megan Follows and I get to be despicable. And we can flip and change. We can do terrible things one week and almost be forgiven for them the next. It’s great fun. Each script comes out only two days before we start shooting, so we have little hints of what’s coming up, but it’s always a surprise—and I do love that with every episode we’re always going, ‘What’s happening this week?’”
Parker is 54 years old and originally from Suva, Fiji.
Rose Williams as Claude de Valois

Rose Williams might not have joined the Reign cast until Season 2, but after she did, she quickly became a fan favorite character. Stasey is 35 years old and she was married to actor Lucas Neff from 2016 to 2020.
