The Pitt Season 2 has been drawing viewers in week after week since it debuted in January, and just before the second season premiered, it was announced that the show would be returning for a third season. While fans were of course thrilled to hear that the series would be continuing, it didn’t come as much of a surprise considering its popularity, and as Season 2 wraps up in a few weeks, news regarding the Season 3 cast has been revealed. Here, read all about the cast of The Pitt Season 3.
Cast of ‘The Pitt’ Season 3—A fan favorite is saying goodbye
Earlier this week, Variety revealed that a fan-favorite character on The Pitt would be saying goodbye, while another character has been promoted to a series regular. According to the outlet, Supriya Ganesh, who plays senior resident Dr. Samira Mohan, won’t be joining the cast in Season 3. Dr. Mohan was introduced in the show as a capable young doctor with a great sense of empathy—almost to a fault at times. Often taking extra time to listen and connect with her patients, while this didn’t always lend well to a high-stress emergency room, it made her a beloved character for folks watching at home. Though her departure from the series is unfortunate, Variety shared that it’s a “story-driven decision.” Being that the medical center they work in is a teaching hospital, her departure follows the typical order of events in which her residency ends and she finds a position elsewhere.

Ganesh’s co-star Taylor Dearden, who plays the part of Dr. Mel King, commented on this process in conversation with ScreenRant, saying, “We’re all always kind of scared, because you kind of graduate out of this. ‘Once you’re a fourth year, you have to get a fellowship or something else to stay, or a huge job promotion,’ which would probably mean another actor going. It’s tough and it is very nerve-wracking, but we’re all very hopeful.”
While we’re sad to see Supriya go, we know that this actress will continue to do phenomenal things!
‘The Pitt’ cast Season 3

This recent cast news also revealed that Ayesha Harris, who currently plays senior night shift resident Dr. Parker Ellis, will now become a series regular in the show. Though at this time HBO hasn’t revealed the full cast list for Season 3, there are a few faces we can assume will be back on our screens by the time the next installment rolls around.
Dr. Robby, played by Noah Wyle, anchors this series, so it’s safe to say he’ll be back. Additionally, Katherine LaNasa, who plays charge nurse Dana Evans, will also most likely be back. As for the rest of the crew, we’re anticipating seeing actors such as Patrick Ball, Fiona Dourif, Isa Briones, Taylor Dearden, Shabana Azeez, Shawn Hatosy, Gerran Howell and Ken Kirby return, but only time will tell what’s in store at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.
