Netflix’s ‘Through My Window’: Where the Cast Is Now—and Could There Be More?
Juicy behind-the-scenes secrets, fan theories—and what the stars are doing now!
Ariana Godoy published her first story on Wattpad—a digital storytelling platform where she’s since amassed millions of followers—at just 19 years old in 2009. About 20 stories later, the Venezuelan author wrote Through My Window (A Través de mi Ventana), a young adult (YA) romance following a girl named Raquel who falls in love with her emotionally distant neighbor, Ares. This passionate love story quickly made Godoy one of Wattpad’s most successful authors. The story, originally published in Spanish and now translated into English, has more than 370 million views and has since been adapted into a steamy Netflix trilogy: Through My Window (2022), Across the Sea (2023) and Looking at You (2024).
The films collected more than 31.5 million hours viewed, solidifying the trilogy’s place in the global top 10 non-English movies on Netflix. Though the final film installment was released last year, the series continues to fuel a dedicated fanbase across social media to this day—from Reddit discussions to Instagram and TikTok videos, fan art and more. This week, Through My Window videos racked up more than 20 million views on TikTok alone, so to say the fandom is still thriving is an understatement. And while most fans were satisfied with the trilogy’s final film, many continually discuss the possibility of a spinoff and any future developments within the Through My Window universe.

What is ‘Through My Window’ about?

The book follows Raquel Álvarez, who works hard in school and has her sights on becoming a psychologist. She also has her sights on her handsome next-door neighbor Ares Hidalgo. Raquel has harbored a crush on Ares for years and even though he lives so close, the two have never spoken. Ares is the heir to his family’s company and has two brothers Artemis and Apollo. When Ares eventually realizes shy Raquel has feelings for him, he steals her WiFi connection to catch her attention. What follows is a series of spark-filled encounters, simmering romance and drama galore. This addictive story is perfect for fans of Anna Todd’s After or Kendall Ryan’s The Impact of You.
Godoy discusses her success—and why teen love stories reign supreme
“I think teen love stories have a great hook—and I also think people are looking for love everywhere,” Godoy said in an interview with Audible. “I think we all have that ‘angel of romance’ right next to us. And we believe in love, we like to read about love. And I think romance stories deliver all this.”
And like many great love stories, Godoy pulled from real-life inspiration for Through My Window. “In my college years, I had a neighbor that used to steal my Wi-Fi, and I took that as a premise and developed it into more detailed fiction,” she said in an interview with Refinery29.

When asked about the film’s booming success, she revealed the reason she thinks fans loved it so much—it’s because they were there from the start. “The readers were alongside the creation of the story, they lived it chapter by chapter on the Wattpad platform and from there it went to Netflix,” she said in another interview with Produ. “For female readers, being part of creating something so big that reached Netflix, made them feel an attachment to the story.”
But Godoy noted that one of her proudest takeaways from penning the global sensation is inspiring more young Latin Americans and Spanish speakers to read. “Through My Window is really easy to read,” she continued. “Something happens in each chapter. And that’s the most common comment I get in signings—that this book got them into reading. It feels like I am fulfilled now.”
Catch up with the cast! Where are the stars now?
Legions of fans agree that the magic of the Through My Window films is due in large part to the two leads. Clara Galle, a Spanish actress, portrayed Racquel and Julio Peña, a Spanish actor, played Ares—and their pitch-perfect chemistry crackled on screen. “The first time we met was at the audition,” Peña recalled in a video interview with SweetyHigh. “It worked out really well—we are both very similar and we both really wanted to put a lot of love into our characters. It was so easy. We love each other so much.”
Since the trilogy wrapped, Galle, 23, has starred in two other Spanish Netflix teen dramas. In Olympo, a new YA sports drama—from the creators of the series Élite—Galle plays artistic swimmer Amaia Olaberria. You can also catch Galle in another Netflix book-to-screen teen drama adaptation, Raising Voices.

Peña will appear in the upcoming film The Captive (El Cautivo). The film, in which Peña will star, centers on the origin story of Miguel de Cervantes, the author of the classic novel Don Quixote. The movie will release later this year.

Will there be a fourth ‘Through My Window’ movie?
This is the number one most-asked question among the fandom. The trilogy’s final film, Looking at You, wrapped up the love story between Raquel and Ares nicely, but some theories suggest there could be a spinoff film or series based on the other characters. Will it actually happen? As of now, there is no definitive plan for Netflix to release Through My Window 4 and Godoy has not commented on continuing the series or writing a spinoff…yet.

But readers of Godoy’s love stories are in for a treat! Her recent web novel, Follow My Voice (Sigue Mi Voz), is getting adapted for the big screen via Wattpad Studios.
