Inside scoop on new Rice Krispies ice cream

Rice Krispies Treats’ signature mix of gooey marshmallows and crispy rice cereal is now available in ice cream form! The fan-favorite snack will now be available in various ice cream options, including pints and ice cream sandwiches.

This innovative dessert idea comes from a partnership between Kellanova and Golden West Food Group. The same collaboration also introduces Eggo Waffles to the ice cream game (more on that below). Rice Krispies ice cream pints will feature the classic marshmallow flavor, while ice cream sandwiches will have crispy marshmallow squares on the outside. The sandwiches come in three flavors: original, strawberry, and triple chocolate.

These Rice Krispies ice cream treats will hit the frozen aisles at Kroger, Albertsons and Walmart in the coming weeks—so get ready to stock your freezer!

Eggo Waffles are getting an ice cream upgrade, too

Who says you can’t eat ice cream for breakfast? With new Eggo-themed pints and sandwiches hitting stores soon, you can certainly indulge at any time of day.

Eggo ice cream pints will be available in three flavors: blueberry, buttery maple and chocolatey chip. Similarly, the sandwiches have the same delicious ice cream flavors between brown butter waffle cookies on each end, making them a great handheld treat.

“We’re thrilled to see these new frozen treats become a reality,” says David Lee, Sr. Director of Global Licensing & Cultural Marketing at Kellanova, in a press release. “Not only are the ice cream pints and frozen novelties inspired by the beloved flavors and textures of Eggo and Rice Krispies Treats, but the packaging also captures their fun and timeless branding. With this launch, fans now have delicious new ways of getting a taste of these iconic brands.”

Like the Rice Krispies ice cream treats, the Eggo ice cream line will soon be available at Kroger, Albertson’s and Walmart.

Fans react to the Rice Krispies and Eggo ice creams

Food blogger and all-around snack connoisseur Mouth Attack shared the announcements for both ice cream launches on their Instagram, and fans have mixed feelings about the flavors.

“This sounds so goood omg,” one person wrote, while another said, “I need to try this!”

While many were excited, some fans had concerns about frozen Rice Krispies. “Just hurts my front teeth thinking about it,” one person wrote. Another commented, “Cold Rice Krispies Treats are the worst to eat tho 😭.”

Meanwhile, the Eggo ice creams are also getting varied responses. Eggo was the first to comment and hyped up their latest creation. “Ice cream you won’t want to miss out on.”

Another commenter was super excited and said, “GOAT!!!” Now Leggo my Eggo!!!” Conversely, others were disappointed, noting that they’ve been making homemade waffle ice cream sandwiches for years.
