Amanda Killeen, DPM

Amanda Killeen, DPM, is an assistant Professor in the School of Podiatric Medicine at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Dr. Killeen earned her medical degree at Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine. She completed a residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the Department of Veterans Affairs Southern Arizona Healthcare System and gained advanced training in Diabetic Limb Salvage through clinical and research fellowships at the University of Texas Southwestern.

Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and the American Board of Wound Management, Dr. Killeen is also a fellow of the American College of Podiatric Medicine. She is a member of several professional societies, including the Diabetic Foot Study Group and the American Diabetes Association, where she is the current chair of Foot Care and Lower Extremity Complication for the Scientific Sessions.  

A prolific researcher, presenter and author, Dr. Killeen’s academic and clinical interests focus on diabetic foot problems, including chronic wounds, recurrent soft tissue infections and osteomyelitis. She has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals related to her areas of expertise. Her recent publications include a chapter contribution to Rutherford’s Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy
