As an employee in the dining hall Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University for the last three years, 59 year-old Vicke Davis has become something of a local celebrity among the students there.
That's because she's known for asking lots of questions about the students' lives, and always remembering details of what they tell her.
Last semester, though, the tables were finally turned when junior Quintin Woods asked Davis what her "dream trip" would be. "To see the Northern Lights," Davis told him--and Woods then took it upon himself to start a GoFundMe page to raise money to send the dedicated, caring cafeteria worker on the trip of a lifetime.
Within 48 hours, students had exceeded the goal of raising $2,000 for Davis. Watch the emotional moment when they ambushed her at her cafeteria register and presented her with the check--plus an even sweeter surprise!
