Royal Family Christmas Cookies

Whether you prefer gingerbread or old-fashioned sugar cookies, it’s not really Christmas without whipping up a batch of the sweet treats. Now, if you’d also like to add some royal flare to your holiday baking, you can follow the recipe recently shared by the Buckingham Palace chefs and enjoy the same cookies the Queen, Kate, William and company do over the holidays.

The simple recipe for Cinnamon Stars not only sounds delicious, but looks absolutely adorable! Even if you don’t have quite the same level of decorating skills as the royal staff members in the video below, you can still cut the dough out into cute shapes and cover them in white frosting.

How clever is that trick for using a regular circle cookie cutter to create perfect moon shapes? And don’t worry if you missed a few details from the video, they shared a written version on the royal family’s official website. They also responded to multiple questions about how long the cookies can last after baking: “To all our followers who have been asking, the Cinnamon Stars will keep in an airtight container for up to two months. Enjoy!” Now if only they would confirm whether or not these are the cookies all the young royals leave for Santa on Christmas Eve.

It’s not just the royal staff members who have been rolling up their sleeves for some baking lately, though. Prince William and wife Kate recently appeared in a BBC special with Great British Bake Off star Mary Berry, which aired in the United Kingdom on December 16. The couple even participated in a lighthearted competition to see who could make the best roulade (basically a fancy word for a Swiss roll), but according to the Daily Mail, Berry wasn’t able to pick a winner between the two royals.
