Inside Alex Drummond’s Family: From Ree to Baby Sofia and a New Baby on the Way
Here's everyone in Alex's adorable family circle.
In case you didn’t hear, Alex Drummond Scott is having another baby! But before she welcomes that new little bundle of joy into the world, it might be good to learn more about who’s already in her family. From mom Ree Drummond to sister Mauricio Scott and even baby Sofia, here is every member of Alex’s family tree.
Alex Drummond’s parents
Alex’s parents are none other than Ree—a.k.a. The Pioneer Woman—and Ladd. She is super close with both of them, and often posts pictures of Ree and Ladd hanging out with daughter baby Sofia on Instagram.
“My mom’s grandma name is ‘Ree Ree,’ and for some reason, it’s in Sofia’s brain that ReeRee equals Yaya—that’s how she says it,” Alex said in an Instagram video earlier this year. “We’ll be like, ‘Sofia, can you say Ree Ree?’ And she’ll be like, ‘Yaya.’”
“So now, we’re joking that my mom’s grandma’s name is going to be Yaya, but she objects to that—she prefers ReeRee—but we think it’s so funny,” she continued. “She says ‘Papa’ really well, though.”
Alex Drummond’s siblings
Alex has four siblings: Paige, Bryce, Jamar and Todd. She also has a brother-in-law named David Andersen.
“Todd and I are more similar and then Bryce, Paige and Jamar are more similar.” Alex said in 2023, “So it’s like oldest and youngest, we kind of have that connection and then Paige, Bryce and Jamar all have more similar personalities.”
“But we have a really fun dynamic, all five of us. I feel like I have a unique and fun relationship with each and every one of my siblings and even though we’re all very different personality wise, we all just have so much fun together,” she continued. “I feel like I am more myself with my siblings than I am with anyone.”
Alex Drummond’s husband
Alex has been married to Mauricio since 2021 and, according to the couple, they had a very traditional wedding. In fact, the groom didn’t even see the bride until she walked down the aisle.
“It makes that moment so much more special, seeing her for the first time at the wedding,” Mauricio said in a blog post back in 2021. “Yeah, it made it a little harder with pictures. But honestly, at the end of the day, it’s more about the meaning of the moment than the pictures.”
Alex added onto that, saying, “When I thought about the wedding day, that’s what I imagined: my dad getting to walk me down the aisle… and seeing Mauricio for the first time.”
Alex Drummond’s children
Alex has two children: Baby Sofia, who was born in 2024, and Baby Boy #1, whom she is currently pregnant with.
“Here we go again!! Another little blessing coming in September,” Alex and Mauricio wrote in a joint Instagram post earlier this month. “Thank you Lord for our growing family! George [their golden retriever] is still processing the news.”
Following the announcement, Ree took to her personal blog to share that she is “so happy for the Scotts!”
“This time last year, I was still in the fizzy honeymoon phase of becoming a new grandmother, and in the year since, I have blissfully swum around in the beautiful, sparkling sea of Sofia Scott and have delighted in every single moment I’ve gotten to spend with her,” Ree continued. “She is an absolute wonder and I love her so very much. And now she’s officially going to be the eldest daughter. I know she won’t understand what all this means for some time, but man oh man…it will be so fun to watch. The new baby is due September 21 (my and Ladd’s wedding anniversary!) so we have a few months to keep getting more and more excited.”
Alex Drummond’s dog
No family is complete without a dog, and Alex and Scott have one dog named George. He’s a golden retriever and has been with the family since 2023.
“I spent a summer in college interning in Dallas and living with my cousins who had a golden. I fell in love and immediately decided I needed a golden someday,” Alex said of their adoption decision in 2025.
