Discover the Super Sweet Details of Alex Drummond and Mauricio Scott’s Love Story: ‘We Are So in Love’
From college sweethearts to first time parents, these two are simply the best
It’s no secret that we over here at Woman’s World love every single member of the Drummond family. From the relatable moments and delicious recipes to much more, especially when it comes to Alex Drummond Scott and her husband, Mauricio Scott. But how exactly did the couple meet? And what did life look like for them before they had Baby Sofia? We look into all of that and more below.
The beginning of Alex Drummond and Mauricio Scott
Alex and Mauricio met while they were both attending Texas A&M University. They married in 2021 at the Drummond ranch in Oklahoma—something that was very special for the two of them, especially considering they didn’t see each other on that day until Alex walked down the aisle.
“It makes that moment so much more special, seeing her for the first time at the wedding,” Mauricio said in a blog post back in 2021. “Yeah, it made it a little harder with pictures. But honestly, at the end of the day, it’s more about the meaning of the moment than the pictures.”
Alex added onto that, saying, “When I thought about the wedding day, that’s what I imagined: my dad getting to walk me down the aisle… and seeing Mauricio for the first time.”
All of Alex’s family—including brother Bryce and sister Paige—attended, the former of which delivering an amazing speech, according to Ree.
“Paige’s toast at the wedding was emotional—some funny moments, but mostly poignant. I cried a little, but my sister Betsy almost didn’t survive it,” the Pioneer Woman wrote in an Instagram post. “It’s always sweet when an ordinarily tough customer expresses how she really feels about her sister. Dang, I have something in my eye again. Love you, Paigie!”
Alex Drummond and Mauricio Scott become parents
Two years after getting married, Alex and Scott became parents for the first time. And no, we aren’t talking about Baby Sofia. The lovebirds adopted their adorable golden retriever, George, in 2023.
“I spent a summer in college interning in Dallas and living with my cousins who had a golden. I fell in love and immediately decided I needed a golden someday,” Alex said of their adoption decision earlier this year.
Then, a year later, the couple decided to add another baby to the mix—and yes, this time we are talking about the adorable Baby Sofia.
“We had just gotten back from a weekend celebrating Mauricio’s dad’s birthday in Mexico. I had tested on Friday morning before the trip and it was negative, so I drank a lot of tequila,” Alex shared of the time she learned she was pregnant. “Then on the flight home on Monday, I remember feeling so weird and having a couple of weird symptoms. I told myself I was gonna hold my pee through the airport and take a test right when I got home. Then I had George take the test to Mauricio hahaha. We were sooooo dead tired from the weekend, and slightly delirious but so excited!”
Flash forward to December 2024, when Alex and Mauricio welcomed Baby Sofia into the world.
“She’s here,” Alex wrote on Instagram. “December 18, 2024. At 2:27 a.m., our perfect girl made her arrival a couple of weeks early, just in time for Christmas! We are so in love and forever changed. Thank you, Lord.”
Since then, Alex—and grandma “ReeRee”—have shared several different updates on Baby Sofia, each one more sweet and adorable than the rest.
