When asked about which memories from her past she wishes she could relive, Lacey Chabert had a tough time deciding. “I was born in Mississippi, three siblings, and I think about that part of our lives. We don’t have a lot of video of my younger years of my childhood, and I would love to go back to one day living—just one flashback of that part of my life,” she shared. “And then if I could choose two and be greedy, I would go back to the birth of my daughter. It was the most special, magical day of my life. And as much as I remember it and hold it so tight in my heart, I wish I could go back and just see it one more time.”
As for Scott, it’s the fond memories of his late mother that he holds close to his heart. “Without getting too heavy, I—much like Chelsea’s character in the show—lost my mother a few years back, and I would spend just a little more time with her, because she was like my best friend. I would spend just maybe one more moment with her, and that’s the only thing I could wish for.”
These touching confessions from the show’s stars highlight their heart and the way their own personal memories and experiences colored their performances in the series, and at the end of the day, they hope people walk away with a little bit of perspective and the courage to go after the things that will bring them joy.
“With every project I do for Hallmark, it’s always a sense of hope, and in this particular series, that is relevant in so many different ways—with family, with the ability to move on through grief, through heartache, but also hope in opening your heart and finding love, and I think that it’s the courage to open your heart,” Lacey explained.
“And also, take the step. If you’re thinking about doing something, I think you’ll never know unless you try,” Scott added. “So I think the lesson really is just like, if you have something that you want, go for it. At the end of the day, you’ll never know unless you try.”
