Sir Rod Stewart is taking a few extra days to fully recover so he can put on his best face for fans. The rockstar, who is currently doing his “Rod Stewart: The Encore Shows” Las Vegas residency, has recently canceled his show for the evening of June 5, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.

Stewart shared the news to his Instagram with a message, thanking fans for understanding the situation. It read, “I’m awfully sorry to have to cancel my show June 5th at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace,” the singer wrote. “My doctor ordered a bit more rest while I recover from the flu. Thanks for your love and understanding.”

This latest cancellation comes after a recent postponement on June 1, which was later rescheduled to June 10, so fans have certainly been wondering what’s going on with the singer and whether he was having health issues.

Of course, his recent message confirms that he has been recovering from the flu and is taking the time he needs to rest and get back to himself before appearing on stage again.

Will Rod Stewart cancel more concerts?

Considering that Stewart is in the midst of his Las Vegas residency, it’s understandable that fans have questions about whether he will be canceling any more upcoming shows. Unfortunately, the singer hasn’t been sharing the news until the day before or even hours before as to whether he would be postponing or canceling, so there aren’t currently any updates about future dates.

As of now, his June 7 and June 8 shows are set to go ahead as scheduled, but fans will be updated by their ticketing site or by the singer himself.

Fans are without a doubt disappointed by the cancellation of Rod Stewart’s recent shows, but they have met him with understanding, knowing the 80-year-old must prioritize his health.

“Gutted – here in Vegas from the UK as part of my husband’s 50th birthday,” one fan wrote on social media. “Planned our trip to see you – get better soon – health before anything xx.”

Another wrote, “Take all the time your doctor advises you to do to recuperate, your health comes first,” while others are “sending [you] positive vibes.”

Rod Stewart’s future tour plans

With cancellations due to health issues and recovering from the flu, fans are considerably worried about the singer and whether he will put an indefinite pause on his touring life.

Although he has been performing for nearly six decades, Sir Rod Stewart shared recently that he is not ready to settle down just yet. However, he may be winding down on the large arena concerts following his residency.

“But these shows will probably be the last big ones I do. I want to go out with a bang, not a fizzle.”
