‘Duck Dynasty: The Revival’ Season 2 Honors Phil Robertson’s Legacy—See What’s Next for His Multimillion Dollar Hunting Empire
The Robertson family returns to A&E with heartfelt tributes to Phil and joyful new family moments
Last year, after years off the air, the Robertson crew came together for the debut of Duck Dynasty: The Revival. With the original series having concluded in 2017, The Revival picked back up in a new era for the Robertsons—with Willie, Korie and the rest of their crew taking on a new chapter that included marriage, expanded families and the ever-evolving Duck Commander business. With fans of the original series thrilled to see this family on their screens once again, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that Duck Dynasty: The Revival is back for another installment. Here, read all about Season 2.
‘Duck Dynasty: The Revival’ is back for Season 2
After an entertaining return to television, the Robertsons are back, and Season 2 holds quite a lot of change for their family. For starters, family patriarch Phil Robertson—Willie, Jase and Jep’s father—passed away after a tough battle with Alzheimer’s last year. While his passing shook the foundation of this family, leaning on their faith, as well as each other, has guided them through the experience, and in Season 2, viewers can expect to see the family honor his legacy. In the debut episode of Season 2, the family comes together and dedicates a full day to activities that bring Phil joy. “We’re so glad we’ve got all the memories and great video content of Phil,” Willie recently told Parade ahead of the show’s premiere. “So starting off Season 2, we get to really celebrate his life and walk the viewer down a little bit of memory lane about him.”
In addition to reflecting on Phil’s life, the new season also looks ahead at their family’s growth. For example, viewers will get to see Willie’s daughter Sadie welcome her baby girl, Kit, as well as Willie and Korie aid their children as they navigate parenthood, marriage and all that life throws their way. Though the Robertsons became accustomed to life in the spotlight, for some of them, when the original show went off the air, they chose to live quieter lives.
“As a family, we all sat down and prayed about this, like, ‘Do we want to do this again?’ And everyone said, ‘Yeah, we want to do it again,’” Korie Robertson told Parade. “I think my hope for the show is that people will find some joy and laughter. I think this day and age, things are hard, especially when you jump on social media or watch the news, and so we hope to bring just some laughter into the home.”
