Based on the 2022 novel by Jennifer Iacopelli, Finding Her Edge follows figure-skating royalty Adriana Russo (Madelyn Keys) and her family—sisters Elise (Alexandra Beaton) and Maria (Alice Malakhov) and their gold medalist father, Will (Harmon Walsh)—as they attempt to save their struggling family rink and process the death of their mother. But when Adriana’s older sister has an accident in competition, the pressure to save the rink falls on Adriana, who gave up skating after her mom passed.

Now, to make it as a skater, Adriana must partner with ice dancing bad boy Brayden (Cale Ambrozic), whom she dislikes but soon begins to connect with.  Meanwhile, her former partner and first love Freddie (Olly Atkins) returns to the rink with a new partner. As she works hard with Brayden, new feelings begin to blossom, while old ones for Freddie resurface.

After a wildly successful premiere season, reaching number 3 on Netflix’s Top 10 TV Shows, Finding Her Edge is returning for a highly anticipated Season 2.

The season ended with Adriana choosing Freddie over Brayden, as both a partner and a boyfriend. Left in the dust, Brayden makes an alliance and partnership with Freddie’s previous partner and Adriana’s best friend, Riley (Millie Davis), which will likely bring some chaos to the rink.

Jennifer Iacopelli, author of the book the show is based on, shared her excitement for the renewal and for getting to continue the story, which was initially meant to end with the first book.

I am over the moon at the reception Finding Her Edge has received by viewers all over the world,” Iacopelli said. “To see my book come to life and watch the world fall in love with my characters has been a dream come true, and now that dream gets to continue with a Season 2! I can’t wait for audiences to see what’s in store for Adriana, Brayden, Freddie and the rest of Team Russo!”

Although there is no release date or plot yet, as the second season was just confirmed on February 3, the cast and crew are thrilled. Showrunner Jeff Norton spoke about his intentions for the series.

“I set out to make a show about love, featuring characters navigating a particularly difficult path in their lives and in their sport. It’s a true gift to be able to work with such a talented cast to extend these characters’ journeys in Season 2,” says Norton. “I’m certain fans will be delighted as we delve deeper into the two love triangles that anchor our show—the romantic one and the familial one. There’s plenty of drama to come both on and off the ice.”

Just days after the release of the first season and prior to the announcement of Season 2, Woman’s World sat down with the author and asked all of your burning questions, including whether there might be a second book.

When asked if she would be interested in continuing the story in the format of a second novel, Iacopelli said, “Yeah and I’ll give a hint of a little spoiler. If anyone does a deep dive into my publishing deal announcements, there has been no announcement about a second book specifically, but I am currently under contract for a new YA book. Do with that what you will.”
