Last year, Netflix debuted a reality show entitled The Later Daters. Centered around helping seniors find love and released after ABC’s widely successful Golden Bachelor, Later Daters centered around people over the age of 55 going out on blind dates. They also showcased the seniors’ relaxing advice from their friends, families and a dating coach named Logan Ury. As things concluded, two couples did decide to take a shot at love off camera, and we have the updates on where they are now.

Suzanne was a 63-year-old contestant who worked as an optometrist and had three children with her late husband. While filming, she met Avery, a 59-year-old financial advisor and divorced father of three. They quickly bonded over things like their love for football—despite the fact that she’s a University of Georgia fan and he’s a University of Alabama fan—and decided at the end of the show that they wanted to continue seeing each other.

Once filming wrapped, though, they went their separate ways for a little while, though they did reconnect a few months later—but only as friends.

“We are really, really good friends. I talk with him a lot. I’m still interested in seeing him,” Suzanne told People after the show finished airing in November of 2024. “I would not say that we’re an item. I think he’s probably dating other people, and I’m seeing some other people too.”

Suzanne is very active on social media and has recently begun posting updates regarding her daughter Allison’s wedding.

Anise and Willie

After almost 20 years as a single woman, Anise, age 62, decided to jump back into the dating pool. The first few didn’t go that well, but then Anise’s daughter, Dyanna, found Willie, a 55-year-old divorcee and old government K-9 specialist, who quickly hit it off with the Later Dater star.

The relationship continued to thrive for a couple of months, during which Anise even met Willie’s mother, but sadly, the two did break up after about a year.

“We realized we don’t have enough in common to build anything on, but we’re still friendly,” she told People. “He lives really far from me. When it came down to the direction he was trying to go and what I was trying to do, it just did not match up.”

Anise probably won’t be single for long, though, because in that same conversation she said she already has “two or three [suitors] who are submitting applications.”

Will there be Season 2 of ‘Later Daters’

As of publication, Netflix has not confirmed whether or not there will be a Season 2 of Later Daters. The show was met with a lot of positive reviews, one of which even coming from former First Lady Michelle Obama, who also served as an executive producer on the show.

“It’s no secret that people feel like it’s coming from the Obamas, that it’s going to be a specific thing and that maybe it’s not for them because of who it’s from,” Ethan Lewis, the senior vice president of Michelle’s production company Higher Ground, said in a statement per The Hollywood Reporter. “But we’re telling everyone’s story. The strategy is to develop a slate that feels broadly accessible for a really wide audience.”
