5 ‘Yellowstone’ Guest Stars You Forgot About—and What it Was Really Like on Set at the Dutton Ranch
From country music stars to supermodels, this show had everyone on it
Taylor Sheridan’s hit Western show Yellowstone might have taken place in the middle of nowhere, Montana, but somehow that didn’t stop several A-list celebrities from stopping by. Obviously, they didn’t play themselves, but they did interact with key characters like Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and more. Below, we have compiled the top five best Yellowstone guest stars and discovered how they truly felt about setting foot on the iconic Yellowstone Dutton Ranch. Read on for more.
Lainey Wilson as Abby

Country music star Lainey Wilson appeared in Season 5 of Yellowstone back in 2022. She played a woman named Abby, a singer who has a past with the Duttons.
“I really had to kind of dive in there and try to figure out what my version of Abby is. Of course, there’s a lot of myself in her,” Wilson said on SiriusXM: The Highway. “I will say, I feel like she’s an artist who was maybe driving through Montana and found a niche of people who really loved her music. Then, she knows she’s not supposed to be messing with cowboys, but she does it anyway.”
The singer appeared in five episodes total, and Yellowstone was her first-ever acting project.
Taylor Sheridan as Travis Wheatley

Since Sheridan worked as an actor before creating the Yellowstone universe, it makes total sense that he appeared in the show. He played Travis Wheatley, a professional horse rider and trainer from Texas, appearing in 12 episodes between 2018 and 2024.
“I spent the first 37 years of my life compromising,” Sheridan told The Hollywood Reporter in June 2023 of his journey from acting to writing. “When I quit acting, I decided that I was going to tell my stories my way, period. If you don’t want me to tell them, fine. Give them back and I’ll find someone who does—or I won’t, and then I’ll read them in some freaking dinner theater. But I won’t compromise. There is no compromising.”
Along with Yellowstone, Sheridan also appeared in two episodes of the prequel show 1883. On that, he played a man named Charles Goodnight.
Bella Hadid as Sadie

While casting a supermodel in a Western might seem a little odd, we have to admit that when Bella Hadid did it, it worked. She appeared in three episodes of Season 5 back in 2024 and played Travis’s (Sheridan) girlfriend, Sadie.
“Grateful to have been in the presence of and learn a lifetime’s worth of knowledge in a few days from the most brilliant of people! I could have been cast as a fly on the wall and would have been just filled with gratitude to be on a set like this for the last season of a show I love so deeply,” Hadid wrote on Instagram back in 2024. “Thank you, Kelly (Reilly), for being such an inspiring mentor for our few days together. Helpful, beautiful, kind, talented and caring. She really IS that great and b*d*ss, guys!”
Hadid is 28 years old and is considered one of the most successful print and runway models in the world.
Michael Nouri as Bob Schwartz

Most people know Michael Nouri for playing Nick Hurley in 1983’s Flashdance. Many people, however, also know him from his nine-episode arc as Bob Schwartz, a banker and name partner at Schwartz & Meyer, the bank on Yellowstone. His role spanned three seasons and he largely worked with Beth Dutton.
Nouri is 79 years old and has been married twice throughout his career. He has two children.
Josh Holloway as Roarke Morris

In 2020, actor Josh Holloway left the sandy beaches of Lost and traded them for the rocky rivers of Yellowstone. He appeared in 10 episodes total as Roarke Morris, a rancher whose family owns the Cross Creek Ranch, which causes a lot of issues for the Duttons.
“There were elk running by all the time. And I’m a fly fisherman, so I fly-fished on the Bitterroot River for nine days straight,” Holloway told USA Today in May of his time on set. “I would take one fish home every night and grill it. It was fantastic.“
Holloway is 55 years old and his other credits include Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (2011), Paranoia (2013), Sabotage (2014) and Colony (2016–2018). He has been married to his wife, Yessica Kumala, since 2004, and they have one child together.
