Danielle Fishel has certainly left her mark on the TV and movie world. She is, of course, best known for her role as Topanga Lawerence on both Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World, but the actress has actually done a lot more than that — specifically in the indie movie circuit. Fishel was born on May 5, 1981 in Mesa, Arizona, and began acting in 1992, with a two-episode stint on Full House. From there she went on to guest star in a few other shows — Harry and The Hendersons among them — before landing the role of Topanga. But she wasn’t a full-time cast member right away. In fact, early on she was almost fired by series creator Michael Jacobs.
“What I know specifically was said is, ‘All I know is, if you don’t come back tomorrow doing this entirely differently, you are also not going to be here,’ referencing the girl I had replaced,” Fishel said on the Pod Meets World podcast in 2023. In Fishel’s romantic life, she is married to Jensen Karp, and they have two sons, Adler and Keaton. She also currently holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, which she earned after graduating Summa Cum Laude from California State University Fullerton in 2013.
Fishel can currently be heard in her podcast Pod Meets World, and is expressing her creative vision from the director’s chair and the writer’s room, as she has stopped acting to pursue those three things full-time.

7. Dorm Daze (2003)
Danielle Fishel stars as Marla, a girl living in a co-ed dorm at Billingsley University alongside Booker McFee (Chris Owens), who is determined to finally find the girl of his dreams — he just doesn’t know who it is. But life has other plans and soon chaos breaks out. This film makes viewers laugh as they see just how crazy college life can be.

6. Longshot (2001) Danielle Fishel movies and TV shows
Filled with stars like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Kenny Rogers and more, Fishel takes on more of a supporting role in this film. In it, fitness instructor Jack Taylor (Tony DeCamillis) gets blackmailed by a businessman who is going to gain insider information to the stock market. It’s everything we love about teen movies, centered around the young characters’ unthinkable shenanigans.

5. Game Box 1.0 (2004)
This thriller had us on the edge of our seats in 2004. After gamer Charlie Nash (Nate Richert) gets transported to a 3-D fantasy game, his skills are put to the ultimate test. As long as he doesn’t die first, he’ll make it back to the real world. Fishel stars as Princess Kate, and she truly shines.

4. Boiling Pot (2015) Danielle Fishel movies and TV shows
Fishel stars in another college film here, but this one has a darker tone. It follows life on a college campus whose ideals are a little too old-fashioned for most people with serious consequences. This indie film is eerie and not for the faint of heart.

3. The Chosen One (2007)
Stepping away from live action, Fishel transitions to a cartoon movie in The Chosen One. It follows Lou (Tim Curray) as he is tasked with going to Kansas to speak with God and help mankind shift into a new style of living. Too bad he doesn’t want to. Fishel voices the character of Donna Goldstein.

2. Girl Meets World (2014 – 2017) Danielle Fishel movies and TV shows
The widely popular 1990s sitcom sequel show follows Fishel and Ben Savage’s fictional daughter, Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard), as she tries to navigate the world with her best friend, Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter). It also stars Peyton Meyer, Corey Fogelmanis, August Maturo, Amir Mitchell-Townes and some exciting cameos from the original Boy Meets World Cast.

We simply had to put Fishel’s most iconic show at number 1. Following Corey Matthews as he navigates life in middle school, high school, and college with his best friend, Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong); older brother Eric Matthews (Will Friedle), friend Jack Hunter (Matthew Lawrence), parents (Betsy Randle and William Russ) and wise teacher George Feeny (William Daniels). Fishel stars as Topanage Lawerence, Corey’s love interest and eventual wife.
