Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Excited to Start a New Chapter After Baby Lilibet’s Birth

Tags:

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are so thrilled to start a new chapter following the birth of their daughter, Lilibet Diana. According to royal author Omid Scobie, the couple are eager to return to work on personal projects after months of parental leave.

That could mean we’ll be seeing much more of the couple in public in the coming months, as they embrace their new lives in the US. “They’re a couple who do very well in those moments of human interaction. They need to be on the ground,” Scobie, co-author of Finding Freedom, told People.

“They say that the proof is in the pudding, and what we are about to see is that pudding,” he added. The pair have been largely avoiding the public eye since Prince Philip’s funeral in April, which Harry attended in the UK. Their daughter was born just months later, and Meghan and Harry have been spending time bonding with her before returning to their humanitarian and other work. Scobie went on to say that the couple is in a “much healthier” place since their royal exit in March 2020.

He claimed the pair are now able to avoid “some of the toxicity” of their old lives and focus on their newest chapter. What’s more, Scobie said “we are now in the thrive chapter” of Harry and Meghan’s new lives.

It’s an exciting update, but just what that will look like for the Harry and Meghan is hard to say. Since moving to the US, the two have kept a relatively low profile when it comes to things like public outings, engagements, and speaking events. Though they’ve made some appearances in the 18 months since they bid the monarchy farewell, it’s nothing like the number of outings they attended while working as senior royals.

Now that they’re coming to the end of their parental leave, there is speculation the couple will be taking on a much heavier workload. That could include personal projects through their Netflix and Spotify deals, humanitarian work carried over from their royal days, and supporting new causes. Just this week they released a rare statement on the recent earthquake in Haiti and the rising conflict in Afghanistan.

“The world is exceptionally fragile right now,” the couple’s statement on the Archewell website read. “As we all feel the many layers of pain due to the situation in Afghanistan, we are left speechless.

“As we all watch the growing humanitarian disaster in Haiti, and the threat of it worsening after last weekend’s earthquake, we are left heartbroken.

“And as we all witness the continuing global health crisis, exacerbated by new variants and constant misinformation, we are left scared,” they added.

Prince Harry served two military tours of Afghanistan in 2007 and 2012. Though Harry and Meghan have left their royal lives behind, it seems they will continue to be involved and vocal about the state of the world.
