‘Jersey Shore’ Stars ‘Snooki’ & ‘JWoww’ Talk the Reality of Balancing Motherhood and Running Their Businesses

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley are two of the world’s biggest reality TV stars thanks to the MTV smash hit Jersey Shore. But they’re more than what you see on the tv show. Nicole and Jenni are also mothers, authors, and business owners.

Woman’s World caught up Nicole and Jenni via e-mail to talk all things business, parenthood, friendship, and of course, Jersey Shore.

Nicole is the owner and operator of The Snooki Shop, a boutique with brick-and-mortar locations in Madison, New Jersey, Seaside Heights, New Jersey, and formerly Beacon, New York. The Snooki Shop also has an online storefront where fans can shop fashion and accessories hand-selected by the reality star.

Similarly, Jenni owns and operates Heavenly Flower, the online boutique named after her daughter Meilani. Many of the items sold at Heavenly Flower are also available through their Amazon storefront, too.

What does it take to balance being a mom, the owner of a business, and filming for the show?

Nicole ‘Snooki’: “Mom life in general is exhausting! For me, being as busy as possible with my work helps me be the best mom. Everything I do now, I do for the future of my kids. They’re my drive. I’m a big believer in manifesting whatever you want into your life, and that’s exactly what I did with my family and my career.”

Jenni ‘JWoww’: “My life is organized chaos in the best way possible! Balancing my schedule, on top of the kids’ school and sports can be challenging, but what I love about what I do is that my kids are able to be involved. They film with me for Jersey Shore Family Vacation, which makes it that much more fun!“

What are the biggest challenges that come with that balancing act? The biggest joys?

Nicole ‘Snooki’: “I love being home and there for my kids. The hardest part about filming is having to leave my kids for a couple days. The mom guilt is real. Running my stores is actually my biggest joy, because the kids get to see how I run my business. Giovanna loves to come to my store and help organize and clean, and she wants to take over one day.“

Jenni ‘JWoww’: “The biggest challenge is when I have to be away from my kids whether it’s for filming or other projects. The biggest joys are getting to have them involved in everything I do. They often join me for trips, come to events with me, etc. It’s a lot more fun to have these experiences with them!“

What made you want to open a boutique in the first place?

Nicole ‘Snooki’: “I’ve had my online store THE SNOOKI SHOP since 2010. I’ve always been obsessed with clothes and loved working in retail in high school. I just love the atmosphere of it all. Once filming died down and I had some free time, I decided to open my Madison, NJ location in 2018 and loved every second of it.“

Jenni ‘JWoww’: “My daughter actually inspired the idea! We’ve talked about having a ‘mommy and me’ collection, so it was her who inspired me to make it happen for us.“

What has the most influence with regards to what you stock your stores with?

Nicole ‘Snooki’: “My ‘slogan’ for my stores is your basically shopping my closet. All my favorite items and looks. I love everything to be authentic to my brand.”

Jenni ‘JWoww’: “It’s important to be as inclusive as possible and give everyone equal opportunity. We’ve been working with an incredibly talented graphic designer, so it’s rewarding for our whole team to see her designs come to life.” 

What is your advice for women who are parents and entrepreneurs?

Nicole ‘Snooki’: “Balance is key. I get my work done with my stores in the morning after I drop the kids off at school, I make time to sit in my office everyday to get all my entrepreneur ventures done, manifest everything I want to get done, and then its back to mommy mode with a glass of wine!”

Jenni ‘JWoww’: “Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re doing the best you can and you’re amazing!”

What has been your proudest moment as a parent so far?

Nicole ‘Snooki’: “Seeing my kids appreciate what they have. My two oldest always tell us how proud they are of their parents for how hard we work for them.”

Jenni ‘JWoww’: “That’s a tough questions because there have been so many moments between both of my kids that make me so proud! My son Greyson was diagnosed with Autism when he was 2, and over the last 5 years, seeing his growth and watching him absolutely crush it has been so incredible.”

Nicole, how has Jenni inspired you has a mom? Jenni, how has Nicole inspired you as a mom?

Nicole ‘Snooki’: “Jenni is such a strong woman. Seeing her as a mother and overcoming all the challenges that come her way is so inspiring. She tackles all the obstacles that come her way as a mother with ease.”

Jenni ‘JWoww’: “She’s an incredible mom. She’s always there for [her family]. Whether it’s school or a cheer competition, she always shows up and supports [her kids].”

Nicole, how has Jenni inspired you has a business owner? Jenni, same question!

Nicole ‘Snooki’: “Jenni has always been a smart business woman. She always knows what we deserve and the right decisions to make. Whenever I have any important questions about my businesses, I always go to her for advice.”

Jenni ‘JWoww’: “Nicole is unapologetically herself and she stays true to that in both life and business. That’s why she’s so successful and her fans love the Snooki Shop!” 

Do your kids have any interest in your business?

Jenni ‘JWoww’: “Yes – Meilani was the mastermind behind Heavenly Flower! She came up with the idea for us to create our own line together. She’s always so excited to see and wear all the new pieces.“

What’s next for your respective retail stores?

Nicole ‘Snooki’: “I’m currently working on opening my Long Island location and trying to figure out my 4th location! Messy Mawma has a just begin, and I cannot wait to add more to my collection of delicious wines and hopefully get into stores!”  

Jenni ‘JWoww’: “We’re currently working on our upcoming holiday collection, and in general, I would love to continue expanding the current collection and creating more pieces for everyone.”

Will you ever collaborate each other?

Nicole ‘Snooki’: “I’d love to! I feel like our ‘Snooki & JWOWW’ fans are waiting for us to come out with something together!”

Jenni ‘JWoww’: “Never say never! I would love to collaborate with Nicole in the near future. We always have the best time working together.”
