Cape Cod Potato Chips’ October Flavor is Always a Chips Fan-Favorite — Here’s Why

A snack that honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Munching on a salty snack that benefits a good cause is the ultimate win-win. The perfect treat for this occasion? Cape Cod Potato Chips’ limited-edition pink Himalayan salt and red wine vinegar-flavor, released every year in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They’re an October staple, and it’s easy to see why.

The bag boasts an eye-catching design.

The iconic Nauset Lighthouse is front and center on every Cape Cod chips bag. This historic coastal site is located in Massachusetts — the company’s home base. But for the October release, the signature bag gets a pink makeover to symbolize the fight against breast cancer; sadly, one in eight US women will be diagnosed with the disease in their lifetime.

The chip’s ingredients are worthwhile.

Salt and vinegar fans, this one’s for you. These chip batches are seasoned with pink Himalayan salt and red wine vinegar, which gives the snack a sweet yet acidic taste. Plus, the salt’s pink color provides the chips with a pretty rosy finish. (Remember, you eat with your eyes first.) “The elevated flavor brings together the tangy notes of red wine vinegar and savory Pink Himalayan salt to create the limited-batch flavor’s unique pink tint — a chip truly worth savoring,” the company said in a statement.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated.

Customers can also feel good about supporting this snack, as Cape Cod Chips is donating five percent of proceeds from every purchase to the Susan F. Smith Center for Women’s Cancers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. “We are proud to further support our New England community by continuing to donate to the world-renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This limited-edition offering not only tastes great, but it also gives our fans a great way to become involved in this important cause,” Aaron Torchio, the previous director of marketing for Cape Cod Chips, said in a 2019 press release.

Where To Buy

I’m not sure about you, but I’m definitely getting hungry. For the rest of October, you can find these chips at nationwide retailers such as Kroger, Publix, and Stop and Shop for around $4.79. Enjoy the chips on their own or pair them with a creamy dip to balance their salty, vinegary flavor!
