‘This Man Gave Me Hope’: Stranger Rocks Baby to Sleep in Doctor’s Office Waiting Room

Tags:

Moms could all use an extra hand now and then, couldn’t they? Well, one flustered mother got not just one hand but two loving arms from a stranger at an Alabama doctor’s office recently — and lucky for us, the sweet moment was captured in a photo that now has hearts exploding all across the internet.

It started when a harried woman entered a doctor’s office waiting area carrying her sleeping toddler. After the staff handed her paperwork to fill out, the woman took a seat and began struggling with how to hold the forms, write, and safely hang onto her slumbering baby all at the same time. As many women can attest, these “hands full” moments can be just enough to send a tired mom over the edge, particularly when there’s a sleeping baby involved who’s about to get disturbed. But that never happened — thanks to a kind stranger seated across the room.

“As she was sitting there trying to figure out how to hold her sleeping baby while filling out the paperwork, this man, from across the room, asks her if she would like for him to hold her baby while she did her paperwork,” wrote Natasha Crittenden Wilson, of Florence, Alabama. She posted about the incident later on her Facebook page — complete with an aww-worthy photo of the kind stranger holding the little one, who snuggled right into the man’s shoulder.

“She smiled and said that would be wonderful,” wrote Natasha. “This man went over there and rocked and loved on that baby like he was his!”

It certainly looks that way, as the cozy baby is very clearly off in dreamland. The patient man — whose name hasn’t been disclosed — also looks quite content, perhaps even catching a few zzzs of his own as mom gets right to work filling out her forms. (Mothers never take a break, do they?)

Happy sigh… we could all use help now and again, and there’s nothing more surprising and touching than seeing someone step up to lend a hand to a stranger in need. The world needs more of that — especially now.
